The Gwen, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Michigan Avenue Chicago

We had an absolutely wonderful experience hosting our Tipsy Tea bridal shower at The Gwen Hotel last Saturday! Everything was beautifully presented, the food and tea selections were delicious, and the service was exceptional from beginning to end. The atmosphere was elegant, warm, and perfect for celebrating such a special occasion. A very special thank-you to the manager, Jason Sunberg and Cecil Barnes for their outstanding hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail. The team made sure everything ran smoothly and that every guest felt welcomed and well cared for. Our bride-to-be was thrilled, and everyone had an amazing time. Thank you for helping us create such beautiful and unforgettable memories. I highly recommend the Tipsy Tea experience for any special celebration!

The hotel is well situated as it is near the river and the shopping areas. There is no reception on the ground floor and guests must go to 5th floor where it is located. This is close by the restaurant/bar which is buzzy and serves good basic food.. Originally we were shown to a room on the 5th floor which was dark and gloomy with absolutely no view so we went back to reception and they kindly found another room for us. The service was helpful and good, the room was comfortable and functionable.

Meredith was attentive, kind and on top of her service. I appreciated having her as our server during breakfast.

While staying at the Gwen for a wedding we were able to have dinner on the patio. Judie the hostess was super accommodating and helpful with our decision to eat inside or outside. It was humid but she allowed us to decide how tolerant of the humidity we were before ordering. She was very helpful and welcoming. Juan our server was excellent with beverages arriving quickly and he also helped with suggestions on various dishes on the menu and the portion sizes. It was so fun to sit outside in downtown with multiple building surrounding us and see the sunset and city lights. Our food was delicious ( loved the fig flat bread and pasta main dish we shared. The pace was relaxed a staff was attentive without being annoying. The evening was so pleasant! Thanks to Judie and Juan!

Judie was out front and welcomed us with a warm smile and a handshake. She led us to a perfect spot on the roof and she even offered to charge my very dead phone. Our server Mayra was very attentive and made wonderful recommendations. The atmosphere was very chill and the food and drinks were on point. The Gwen made our afternoon and we can’t wait to come back.
