This hotel was the best part of my solo trip to Chicago, it all started with Cindy at the front desk being so accommodating and patient and nice, she was a breath of fresh air and I commend her. My only issue was my first night at the rooftop bar no one came over to help me or take my order, other than that I had a great time.

Really disappointed in the condition of the hotel. Dirty, in need of a renovation, unprofessional cleaning staff, things not working (window, phone, etc.) and lobby seems like an empty dining hall with broken down furniture, no plants and again very dirty. Hilton needs to strip this hotel down to the studs and renovate. Same furnishings and artwork as when I visited in 2014. Staff tried to make up for the shortcomings, but they can only do so much.

Let me preface this review by saying we have stayed at the Hotel Lincoln at least 6 times over the years when we would visit Chicago. Although the rooms are small, the location is excellent and it served our needs well. This visit, however, left a great deal to be desired. We were in Chicago from 6/25-6/28. Prior to arriving, I had requested early checkin (for a fee). When we arrived our room was not ready, but I was willing to overlook this inconvenience. Sometimes things happen and requests are not guaranteed. Friday morning was a different matter. I had lukewarm/cold water in my shower. Yes, the faucet was turned completely hot but there was no hot water to be had. I made the best of it and just assumed at 8 am I was too late for hot water. Saturday morning (7:30 am) the shower water was ice cold. My husband spoke with the front desk who assured him it was a hotel wide issue and was now repaired. We were told we just had to wait a few hours for the water to heat up. No compensation was requested or offered. We finally received hot water around 1:00 pm. It was quite inconvenient timing as we were supposed to be leaving for my nieces graduation party at 1:30 pm, but we made it work. Finally on Sunday morning (6am), the water was ice cold again. My husband went down to front desk and spoke with the front desk. The receptionist could not have cared less about this issue and brushed him off. She checked us out with a shrug and an air of “good riddance”. Once again, no compensation was offered. Speaking with other guests, it appeared to be a hotel wide issue, again! They were not compensated or helped in any way either. Sometimes things dont work properly, but the customers needs should be accommodated whenever possible. The Hotel Lincoln used to be a boutique hotel with excellent customer service. This is no longer the case. For what they charge, look for another hotel or rental. I do not recommend this hotel for its facilities or its customer service.

The room smelled like mildew, the carpet just outside of the bathroom was soaking wet, it took forever for the water to warm up in theshower, I never got a hot shower just a lukewarm shower, there was literally paint peeling from the ceiling over the bed. In summary, this hotel is not very well maintained.

The Hotel Lincoln is in a great place adjacent to Lincoln Park and all that it has to offer (Farmers' Market, the Zoo, ccess to the beach). There are plenty of restaurants in the area and it is an easy walk to old town and to the metro for all the downtown access.
