We enjoyed our stay at Kimpton Gray! One hiccup was that we didn't get the early check-in we hoped for, but that was subject to availability, so we managed our expectations. They did, however, provide a secure baggage hold service so that we could explore the city while we waited for our room and check-in, and so we were grateful for this. They kept our baggage in a secured room near the reception area, and we retrieved it at check-in. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The lobby is gorgeous. Their tea/coffee service daily is great - I highly recommend the lavender mint tea to try. This is an easy location to ride from O'Hare to the hotel by train/subway - Blue line/Monroe exit and other CTA transit lines if you are adventurous. Hotel restaurants were lovely and can be booked through Open Table. Most of the staff there were helpful and professional! We requested and were given a slightly late check-out at 1pm, although I'm not sure this was communicated to the cleaning team as they seemed confused when we were still in the room at around noon getting ready to head out the door. No worries, it did not affect our stay. We will certainly consider another stay at the Kimpton Gray hotel in the future.

My husband and I stayed here when we recently visited Chicago for the first time. This hotel was well located although in a somewhat quiet area during the weekend, it was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to visit the rooftop bar located within the hotel as it was closed on Sunday, and that was when we had planned to visit, poor planning on our part. The hotel was clean and well appointed. We were able to check in early and the check-in process was very smooth. Our room was modern and clean and the housekeeping service was efficient and thorough. A highlight for us was the complementary wine they offer from 5 to 6 daily. We were not aware of this before checking in. It was nice to enjoy a glass of wine at the hotel before heading out for our nightly dinner reservation. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would come again.

We have stayed at Kimpton Hotels before and always found them very welcoming. However our recent stay at the Kimpton Gray was disappointing in that some staff at the reception were not gracious or helpful … just pretentious. The Gray facility is overpriced in that overall it was not very different from a Holliday Inn Express which is a bare bones facility. The desk in the room had no electrical outlets. Those by the bedside were poorly positioned. Toiletries were not refreshed during our stay. No bottled water was provided in the rooms and inexplicably one reception clerk indicated that bottled water was not included with our reservation, but that was never indicated. WiFi access had to be renewed during our stay.

My partner and I stayed here after driving a long distance, and the service was questionable. We really enjoyed our stay at the Kimpton in Omaha, so maybe our expectations were too high. When we arrived, the valet was missing for around 10-15 minutes even after we went in to check in at the front desk. When he did arrive, we had to wait for a cart to carry our luggage, which was an additional 20 minutes. When we got to our room, it was so beautiful and after that the hotel staff service was great, offering me a charger as I forgot mine in the car. We went to the hotel restaurant Vol 39 for dinner, and it was disappointing. We ordered the Provencal Tartine and the Warsaw Mushrooms. I believe they were sitting out for a while before they got to us, about an hour after we ordered. The mushrooms were cold when they got to us, and the Tartine's bread was completely soaked. The server was very kind, and got the manager for us who took the food off but still charged us full price for our drinks which we were a bit bummed about. It is a beautiful place, just really disappointed in the experience overall after traveling so long.

We just visited Chicago. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It started with a very nice and attentive Valet. The Front Desk staff were great as well. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and they surprised us with a note, Champagne and chocolates in our room. When we asked if coffee was available the next afternoon, they had a coffee maker delivered to our room. We had a fantastic breakfast in Le Bella Trattoria. The breakfast potatoes are amazing. Later we had a lunch delivered. The room was very nice. Overall this a beautiful hotel with amazing staff.
