Staff were incredibly helpful, greeted us, offered to help, quick check in. The room was not exactly what I had hoped they would be due to my disabilities but they were sufficient.

If you want some visual challenges, this is the hotel for you. The dark hallways have city-scape line drawings that are interesting but a bit disorienting, at least for me. The bathroom and entry way floors in the rooms are very sparkly and shiny. The bathroom was very nice - large shower with a glass barn door that worked as a shower door but also as a toilet cabinet door. The room was on the smaller side with the king-sized bed off-center and sort of in the corner. There was a wing-chair and a desk with comfortable work chair. The mini-bar fridge and snack shelf are all on sensors so you cannot use the fridge at all and left me fearful that I would accidentally knock something over. There was a coffee station and a couple of complimentary bottles of water. The room had a decent sized safe, iron/ironing board, and plenty of closet space. The bench under the TV was very helpful. Personally, I found the bed to be very uncomfortable as the mattress was worn badly. Because it was off-center, it seemed to be mostly used on one side and as a result, there was noticeable sagging on one side and if you slept on the other side, you could roll into the divot. The hotel was in a decent location - it was an easy walk to Millennium Park and the Cloud Gate (The Bean) and to the Riverwalk and Mag Mile. But, there wasn't much right around the hotel. Excellent restaurants in the area but it was about a 10 minute walk. The hotel restaurant was good but expensive. The lobby was very pleasant, albeit long and dark, and the WiFi was good throughout the hotel. Everything was very clean and the staff were nice. I did not like that they charged for early arrivals and that the fee lowered as you got closer to check-in time - morning arrival would be $100 and then it would decline to $50 then to $30 as check-in got closer. The desk staff said that it was in the system and they couldn't override the fee but there did seem to be some arbitrariness to it all.
