Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile

I’m leaving this review sitting at Le Bar’s bar. Arrived around 1pm and was greeted by the lovely Fern. She couldn’t have been more welcoming, and speaking Thai, we connected as she speaks Thai. She informed me my room was not ready yet as they upgraded me as a Gold Accor member. No worries as there’s so much to do in the neighborhood! Returned and Jillian - perfunctory and kind - checked me into my suite. Later in the evening, went to Le Bar where Antonio took care of me. He was super friendly and professional. When he went on his break, a woman who said she was a manager took over. She was pleasant in the “don’t talk to me” kind of way, if that makes sense. Sitting at the bar by the service window, I heard her talk to another server. She said some things about how Antonio organized the bar. Look, I don’t know about that, but I do know that everyone at the bar was happy and Antonio took care of me well. It felt unprofessional for her to be speaking that way in my earshot about her colleague; I say that as someone who has worked in service for 25 years. Truly, I hope she gets this feedback, and also knows that Antonio is a great bartender! This was my first stay at the Sofitel in Chicago and frankly, I thought Antonio and his bar back were great, as was my room.

We had an incredible experience at the Sofitel. The entire staff was responsive, friendly, and enhanced the stay. The location is perfect for access to all the nearby shopping and Navy Pier. The rooms were incredibly appointed, clean and serviced well throughout the stay. We had incredible views of the city.

I stayed at Sofitel for a software user conference and decided to go a little early to experience Chicago. Although, I was initially unimpressed by the hotel as I approached, I really enjoyed my stay. First, I cannot say enough great things about Alem, the concierge. He made the transition from my personal reservation to my business reservation seamless. He also had some great recommendations to experience Chicago for my stay. The room was clean with a fresh smell and the hotel staff was very responsive. I needed a microwave for my left-overs from dinner and I had barely hung up the phone before someone was at my door to deliver it. I can say a lot of great things about the stay, but the customer service is what will have me going back. I really enjoy when I feel the staff is really trying to make my stay a wonderful experience and that's what I received at Sofitel.

We love staying at this hotel, location is great. Special thanks to Alem who’s very attentive, courteous and friendly. He’s always welcoming and ready to assist with anything we need.

This was my first time visiting Chicago. I was not sure where to stay, but when I say the Sofitel during my booking process, I knew it was the right hotel for me. No issues from the time I checked in until I checked out. Everyone was polite and professional. I had a king room overlooking the city. The room was clean and comfy with an amazing view of city. The hotel is centrally located with in walking distance to everything you might want to see or do.
