Beautiful hotel, great location
Beautiful hotel with modern, intimate feel. The location is great. With all the landscaping in the area, it was so picturesque. Right in the middle of lots of upscale shopping and dining. The area is very affluent (lots of designer stores nearby) so it can feel a bit stuffy. The hotel is just a short walk to the Willis Tower, but much further from most of the shopping on Michigan Ave, the river (20min walk), and the bean. Staff was great. Very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Time for a RENOVATION
I will start with the pros: Location: Great walkable area. Close to shopping and restaurants. Coffee shops are close also. Staff: The hotel staff were really nice and professional. My concerns were addressed promptly and they genuinely cared. Restaurant at the hotel: Nice patio and the food was tasty. Cons: hotel is a bit dated. Most Thompson chains have been nice (Madrid and Cabo). This one, with you walked in there was a horrible smell. I found out later there was is a sewage issue there. Room: i had to switch rooms. First room the headboard was peeling so bad. It looked awful. Also they air was extremely loud. It was constantly turning off and on and the room temperature was either really hot or really cold. Switched rooms. Headboard was much better. The manager shared try are trying to update. But in this room, the air NEVER turned off and it was in auto. At one point I turned to 80 and it was still freezing in the room so we had to turn it off to get a break. The carpet throughout the hotel is old, outdated, torn. And smell in the hallways. I really wish this had been a better experience I was with a group and we all felt disappointed in how the hotel was worn out.
