Reviews for Virgin Hotels Chicago

Fun and Funky

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Fun and Funky hotel with luxurious beds! Stayed as part of a business trip. The location is good. I liked the filtered water dispenser in the lobby. It came in very handy. The mini bars in the room are fun. The only disappointment was the in room coffee situation. If you want anything resembling coffee in the morning, just go downstairs and buy one from the coffee shop.

Location was super convenient for tourist attractions we wanted to visit. Very walkable downtown area. Our room was very clean and the bedding was very comfortable.

Fabulous as always.

We LOVE The Virgin Chicago. Have stayed here 5 times during all seasons. The staff are exceptional. Facilities are clean and modern. The hotel has many restaurants close by and the theater. On this trip, Chad, Concierge, was fabulous. I contacted him several days before our trip because we were coming with a dog and I wanted some recommendations for outdoor patios that were pet friendly. Within moments he responded with a whole list of places we could go. He also helped us get our upgrade through "The know." I had a ton of questions and had to email him several times through the week, and he was always patient, informative, and professional, and the morning we arrived he let me know our room was ready and waiting. What a professional concierge he is! Can't wait to come back!

A great city hotel full of wuirks

Being someone who loves most things 'Virgin', and having stayed in the Virgin hotel in Las Vegas, we were keen to try this hotel. Completely different in style, it was still full of the quirkiness I have come to expect. We had a china boxer dog chained to the wall outside our room! The reception area and lifts were like something out of the 1920s but the rooms were bright, modern and airy. The King size bed was extremely comfortable and the Smeg fridge was fully stocked (although we didn't take anything from there!) The bathroom/shower configuration was great - light, bright and spacious with a huge separate walk-in shower - no waiting while the other half washed & dressed. A great idea. I loved the toiletries on offer, they felt very luxurious - and from their price tag they were! The rooms were 'cleaned' every day, with new towels added but none taken away. I liked the sensor lights in the wardrobes, as you didn't need to put lights on for an early morning comfort break. Being a hotel in the centre of the city, there wasn't much that could be done about outside noise from the local L line trains, fire engines and car stereos but after a couple of nights they didn't bother us. A big shout out must go to... Daniel in the Commons bar, who was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. He gave us some great advice on getting around. Daniel (NOT the same person!) in Reception. We reported an issue with a light and it was sorted straight away, without a fuss. |He was also incredible helpful when we checked out. 203 coffee bar - your muffins were fantastic - so good we bought some to take on the plane with us. Everyone here was friendly and helpful, especially to us 'foreigners' navigating their coffee menus. The only negative...we just felt a little old to be in the rooftop bar!
