The Whitehall Hotel

The hotel was clean and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Cheryl at the front desk was AWESOME. She was warm and welcoming in every interaction and quickly helped us resolve our request. Cheryl is a valuable asset to Whitehall!

Beware small elevators, even though they are fast. Consider your loved ones who might not appreciate elevators that can only accommodate four people max, and with luggage: two people. The floors are the higher part of the building; again, if someone is sensitive to height - avoid this hotel.

We stayed at the Whitehall for 3 nights. Great staff, quiet room, comfortable bed. Felicia especially helpful. A few minor maintenance issues - but expected with such an old building. Love BW for free, enjoyable breakfasts. Location was perfect -- saved lots of Uber $ by walking to Pier, Beach & River Walk (all approx 1 mile I believe). Hancock, Harry Potter Store/ Magnificent Mile and Rush Street are very close walks. L stop is also close - used it to return from Wrigley Field. Fav walkable restaurants were Pizzeria Due and Doc Bs. BW Rewards program is good - and we will stay here again.

Excellent hotel for quality, value and location. Refurbished older building with very nice large room. Breakfast included and was good. Location of the hotel is very good being right in the middle of everything and close to the lake. Parking was reasonable and right across the street valet. Highly recommend this hotel for the price also.

Nice location, quiet street, better than basic amenities. But the hot water was very slow (12 minutes) for shower and the faucet was initially functioning poorly and had to be replaced. It was a rough first night but staff were not responsive to requests for credit since I didn't want to change rooms when I discovered this at 10 pm and had unpacked, nor stay up even later to get it fixed.
