Reviews for The Whitehall Hotel

Great location, flawed hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I'm not very fussy with my hotels, and think of myself as a very adaptable and flexible traveler. However, The Whitehall Hotel is a place that seems like it needs a bit of refreshing, when it comes to its rooms and amenities. This was one of those hotel rooms where hot shower water was sparse, a complaint I overheard from someone else at breakfast as well. I appreciated that it was a normal tub and not a tiny booth, but it's hard to enjoy when the water can't reach the temperature you want. The TV remote was so badly worn that the buttons had become barely responsive. The room was generally clean, but I was questioning the true cleanliness when I saw a single insect leg on the mattress. Don't worry, it wasn't the nightmare bug that would ruin a mattress, but still a bit gross. Breakfast was so minimal, I probably would have been happier if I just spent a bit of money outside the hotel, but time was limited. Here's a list of literally every breakfast option when I stayed: two types of sugary cereal, one type of yogurt that I didn't check, bananas, apples, whole wheat bread, cream cheese, peanut butter, coffee, milk, and orange juice. I sat next to someone who ate eight pieces of toast in one sitting, displeased the entire time about the lack of options. Sorry to call you out, half-loaf guy, it was just amusing. But the location was great, and the room wasn't overly pricey, not that it would be enough to bring me back here.

One of the worst experiences . Booked their to you suite. The thermostats did not work air-conditioning was at tornado force. No phone in the master bedroom ,worn furniture reached out to Managment regarding the thermostats house keeping said there they just said strong fans. Reached out to the general manager after our stay all he said sorry. would not recommend this hotel to anyone. three nights $1500. The only thing outstanding was the front desk people..

A wonderful hotel in very sorry shape

The iconic Whitehall Hotel has fallen apart. The location of this hotel is so convenient and always has been one of my favorites. If this property if considered one of BW's Premier Collection hotels, I would stay away from them.

HORRIBLE HOTEL

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Location was good. Everything else, horrible. No where near value for money, sleeping on the streets outside has the potential to be just as good. Shower did not work properly, and had the water pressure of a leaky pipe. Shower was falling apart and required multiple unusual steps to use. When reception was called about this, the staff member that answered was passive aggressive, began yelling at me, despite my patience, and then hung up. Stains on the bed and on the towels, as well as the cupboard doors not closing. Marks all over the walls and some mould. When we arrived, our allocated room was already occupied, which was a major inconvenience. The breakfast cost them $10 maximum and consisted of 4 cereals and bread. This is no where near good enough for a 4 star hotel, as many 3 star hotels surpass this. DO NOT stay here.

Great first time stay

We chose this hotel based on location and it didn't disappoint. Perfect location for our needs and the staff was amazing. Bringing up ice, bottled water and a microwave within minutes of our request was 100% appreciated after a long hot day. Everyone was incredibly friendly and we would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at The Whitehall Hotel in March. The property is lovely with an Old World charm, and the food is wonderful. We were treated well by every employee, from the desk clerks to the waiters. We have already booked another weekend and cannot wait to return!.
