The Serai Resort is a fine example of a tranquil oasis of luxury and peace, to refresh the mind and body by seamlessly integrating luxury and richness of nature. The Serai in Chikmagalur connects to trails through the coffee plantations and has an open network of verandas that displays views of the green landscape with white blossoms peeking out. Accommodation is provided in estate villas that are immaculately furnished and designed in contemporary style. Each villa has a private garden that features either a private pool or jacuzzi for exclusivity.

We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed our experience. The location was ideal, being not too far from the highway, yet nested in the embrace of nature and the coffee plantation. The staff were veryattentive in addressing issues and providing services. The food was excellent, with varieties that covered regional, national and international cuisines. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. The design of the bed is unusual and can pose a problem for seniors and for those with mobility issues. Overall, we had a great stay and look forward to staying there again.

I visited Serai Chikamagalur in June 2026 with wife and kids for our anniversary. Property is good, serene, staff is courteous, but I would say somewhat inexperienced. Throughout the stay we were told that the buffet breakfast's cold spread would be laid out as always, however the warm items would be made to order due to low occupancy. We understood that the logic was to avoid wastage. Although none of the breakfast menu options were denied to us. On our last night there, a group of around 75 guests held the entire restaurant to hostage at dinner time, which should have been avoided by segregating big groups from the rest of the guests. The spa services were excellent and effective. It was our marriage anniversary and the hotel staff were kind to serve a complimentary cake and also offered us a room upgrade which we politely declined. Plantation walks with Joshna are highly recommended as she is very knowledgeable and a pleasant personality. Villas with private pool are ergonomically challenged as the bed is in the center of the room and the TV is offset from the center of the bed. Extra beds are per person per night basis, and we had to remind that we had paid for 4 persons while booking to be able to avail 2 extra beds for each of the kids. To be honest, price is steep for the experience on offer.
