The Serai

The location of The Serai at Chikmagalur is at a quiet and peaceful location surrounded by their iconic coffee estate. The atmosphere there shows a balanced combination of natural and man-made luxury. The rooms are with wooden floors and exude a sense of warmth and grandeur in-one. They are generally clean despite the natural surroundings and cats. ;) The overall service is one of friendly professionalism, a big shoutout to the restaurant staff - Gufran, Abhishek, Razzaq & Raghavendra and Chef Anilkumar, and to the hospitality staff - Asma & Angel. Our acknowledgements to We had booked a room with a jacuzzi. The amenities in the room were good - with a central A/C, a mini-fridge, a bathtub, and separated toilet and bathrooms. The value for the rooms, in our opinion were a little over-priced. Nevertheless, the rest of the environment and length of stay along with the service level made-up for it.

Everything about the place is just wonderful. The stay, the calm and quiet and most importantly the staff. Angel at the reception, Gufran, Abhishek, Toichu, Wilfred and chef Anil at the restaurant. And each and every other person whose names I don’t know but who served us with a smile. Thank you for taking such good care of us

The staying experience at Serai was awesome. The chef Mr. Anil and Mr. Sadiq fed us delicious lunch spread. The Birthday cake Butterscotch flavour was very tasty and well made. Heartfelt thanks to the staff Abhishek Toichu and Mr. Dikshit for their hospitality and great service.

Our 1st visit to Chikmagalur. Serai, the property is beautiful. Serai was disappointing from a service, amenities & food standpoint. The restaurant food left a lot to be desired for…. Special thanks to the manager Abhishek, he was very helpful & accommodating. Special mention to the restaurant staff:Toiku, Thanks to Mr Pradeep, great naturalist.

We stayed at the Serai Chikmagalur. It was truly a memorable and relaxing getaway. The hotel is inside a verdant coffee plantation. The staff were truly welcoming and took personal care of us. I want to make special mention of the following people, who really went out of their way to make us feel special. Mr. Anil Kumar (sous chef, plays bansuri flute too!) Mr. Raju Samanta Mr. Wilfred Sequeira (food and beverages manager) Mr. Saumen (host at table) Ms. Protiba (hostess at table) Mr. Prasun (host at table) The chikmagalur town and sights are close enough to make a trip for a few hours and then to return to the solitude and comfort of the hotel.
