The Serai

The whole experience was wonderful especially with the staff being very warm. We have a very good set up of kids play area for those with toddlers the staff incharge of the play area Suma made sure all the kids were taken care of such personal attention is very rarely available in most resorts. Over all the stay was very delightful and comfortable

I had prepaid for a 4 night stay but had to leave after 3 nights due to an emergency. Despite explaining the emergency to the staff (Mr Sumanth) and the head office (Mr Sreekanth), they absolutely refused to help. They did not process a refund, not even partial, nor did they agree to issue credit voucher for future stay. All they did was adjust the food bill of 8500/- against room rent of 37200/-. Greedy and inhumane management. Never will consider prepaying for a stay in The Serai ever again.

We had a awesome stay at Serai Chikmagalur during the long weekend. Suma manages the kids play area there and We comfortably left out 7 year old daughter with her for more than 3 hour, while we spent some quality time in their spa. Suma kept her engaged with various games and craft activities. Just loved the entire experience there, food, ambience and amenities every thing was top notch. Most favourite part was daily sessions in the private pool that allowed us to spend quality family time together.

The Serai, Chikkamagalur, echoes luxury and a sense of calm all the way from the entrance till the rooms. The lobby area, spa, bar and restaurant, common pool , private pools attached villas, the rooms and the washrooms are all maintained spick and span. The hospitality is top notch and the staff look after every guest with utmost care. The landscaping of this property looks like a dreamy movie location. Every room, is basically villa, with a private pool, sit out, and the washroom area has a bath tub with an added benefit of outdoor shower area. The guided plantation walk in the evening with Mr. Pradeep, was an absolute delight. The way he explains the things and eventually how he prepared us different variety of coffee during the coffee tasting session post the plantation walk were amazing. The menu on the breakfast buffet curated by Chef Anil Kumar had a lot of options to choose from, with a variety of Indian breakfast and continental options. The live counter added on positively to this experience. Overall, the food on the breakfast or be it the A La Carte items for lunch/dinner were also very tasty. The chilli garlic noodles and the egg manchurian that we had were the real winners for us. The spa experience with the Oma signature massage was very relieving on the body to recharge and unwind. Although the resort has a gym, it seems more like a cabin in the woods and not really helpful. It is also little cramped. This could have been positioned elsewhere. Given the property's overall layout, there is scope for improvement in terms adding maybe some adventure activities like zipline and something like an obstacle course. These would definitely be a value add.

Food: Absolutely top-notch — every meal was a delight! Property: Exemplary in every sense — grand, well-maintained, and inviting. Cleanliness: Spotless throughout — not a single mosquito despite the vastness of the property! Staff: A special shoutout to the entire team. Words may fall short, but your warmth, courtesy, and ever-helpful attitude truly stood out. You were always available and eager to assist, making our stay incredibly smooth. They even have a really sweet lady in the kids play room- Suma, very gentle, involved and engaging with the kids. Thank you Suma. Thanks to the chef. Thank you Uday. And a huge shoutout to the showstopper, Gagan — thank you for being available from the moment of booking until check-out. Your personal involvement in our celebration meant the world to us, and it truly made all the difference. Overall, we’d rate our experience a solid 4.5 stars — just holding back 0.5 for a few minor hiccups that were swiftly and efficiently resolved. Thank you once again for your impeccable hospitality!
