The Serai

It was a wonderful experience staying at the resort. The housekeeping staff were extremely helpful and kind. I would especially like to mention Rakesh, Manu, and Girish for their excellent service and warm attitude. However, my experience with the front office over the telephone was not very pleasant, especially during checkout. I had already informed a front desk staff member in advance that I would need just 20 extra minutes to feed my baby. Despite this, I received two calls regarding checkout, and the tone on the phone felt rude, as if the delay was for a long time rather than a short extension. In person, however, the staff were polite. I truly appreciate the housekeeping team for coordinating well, understanding the situation, and allowing me a little extra time with good communication. Breakfast was good, though the overall food taste could be improved. Also, a little more training for service staff in smiling, patience, and communication, especially while handling families with babies, would further enhance the guest experience. Overall, it was a good stay, and I hope this feedback helps improve the service for future guests.

Our stay at The Serai, Chikmagalur was nothing short of amazing. Surrounded by lush greenery and calm landscapes, the resort offers the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and privacy. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and impeccably maintained, making the stay extremely relaxing. A special mention goes to Chef Anil Bakshi, whose culinary expertise truly elevated our experience. Every meal was thoughtfully prepared, rich in flavor, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. His attention to detail and passion for food were evident in every dish, and the warm hospitality added a personal touch that made dining memorable. The peaceful atmosphere, excellent service, and outstanding food make The Serai a perfect getaway for anyone looking to unwind and indulge. Highly recommended, and we would love to return again.

We are the right ppl to give the review of this property having stayed here for 8 nights..which we regret of course During our stay we encountered multiple issues related to housekeeping, food and also general maintenance. Firstly the housekeeping is very poor and on the first day of check in you will mostly find the rooms especially the bathrooms and toilets unhygienic with stains, if you notice Throughout our stay our room flooring was never mopped which we realized on fine day when we returned back from outside and were shocked to see littered stuff and unclean flooring. We called the housekeeping to be done again (they came after a long time) They did it reluctantly but admitted their fault. Also the bed has a very broad wooden border which hits the leg and you have to jump on it to get into the bed.. Now coming to the restaurant, the food is substandard both in terms of quality & taste. …Sometimes its uncooked, sometimes overcooked and even burnt – depends on the cook Mr. Anil’s mood. One day we got burnt hakka noodles, another day soaked watery poha and another day very spicy tea...yes! In addition there is one peculiarity here, Mr. Anil has got an unsavory habit of coming to the tables and passing sarcastic remarks and he will decide the ingredients of dishes based on his psychological state…So Beware!!! And come to eat it at your own risk.. The resort needs a lot of repair as we can see broken and discoloured bathroom tiles and you can find so many plastic covers and bottles lying in the coffee plantations and littered throughout the property..All this shows what a poorly managed resort this is..

Great scenic property with beautiful coffee plantation all around. The rooms are there private pools that provide a sense of luxury and confort. Service was outstanding as well
