My husband and I just got back from a week in paradise Aug 16-23 for his 50th birthday. Upon arrival we had a quick check-in and was greeted with warmth and kindness. We were shuttled to our room 8222 via golf cart. The buildings are bungalow 2 story style. Our room was spacious, clean, always hot water and air conditioning. Food: Good, variety always at the buffet, our favourite Al a carte was the Cuban (authentic) then Italian and 3rd was international but really no complaints. Bar Billar Carambola: Our favourite spot to go after dinner to sit on the floating patio and see the sunset. Chevy the bartender introduced me to my new favourite mojito with Gin Q Blue. My hubby loved relaxing there with his cigar and Havana Club Reserva. Entertainment: We enjoyed the different singers at night in the lobby bar. A lot of places to sit and listen as well as a variety of bevys to drink. Staff: Everyone from the customer service, the servers, cleaners, ground keepers are top notch...they are so welcoming and always greeting you with warmth like family/friends. Taxi: We took a taxi $15 USD to the centro comercial La Gaviota. Lots of little shops outside and inside. Pool is very nice however we are beach lovers. We always get up for sunrise, grab cappuccino at the 24 hr snack bar and head for our morning sunrise Beach walk. Our favourite part of the day. Ocean is crystal clear and beach is kept so clean.. plenty of shade and seats. We would definitely return. Highly recommend getting the VIP lounge at the airport. $26 USD each. We did it at the resort via our air transat rep. Bring some mosquito spray. They have their moments 😉 PSA: Canadians stop bring coins to tip with as they can't use it.

We were in this hotel the second time. It is good experience. A clean room, a clean beach, good stuff, especially at 24-hour bar near a pool. We like different soup at a restorant. I recommend this hotel for visit.

The beach is the best thing about Melia Cayo Coco. Staff is great. Food is just ok. However, we were staying in one of the rooms that had not been updated and we have had to kill cockroaches in the bathroom and could not sit outside of our room because of the smell of sewer gas. We will not come to this resort again. Things to consider.

This place is a nice quiet place to visit. The good is good depending on the chef you get. The beach is pure paradise and the place in nice in general. I have to say the reviews doe this place is very important. I was on the beach when staff approached me about writing a review. Like excuse me. We spent. 2 weeks here and I can say that the people are not a friendly as I expected. We love to tip however they do expect it. I would come again if they renovate the rooms and give a little attention to the hotel premises.

The room service was excellent. The custodian was very diligent in housekeeping without expectations. The servers in the restaurant should be trained to always do their duties regardless who tips them or not.
