Melia Cayo Coco

We have been going to this resort for over 20 years. It is not shiny and new like some resorts, but is clean, renovated and has new restaurants that have been added. The food is wonderful no matter which one you choose. The reason we go back time and time again? It is for the wonderful staff that will always look after you with a smile and will make sure you have the best time possible on your well deserved holiday. This wonderful attitude extends from the front desk staff, to all the servers, entertainers and even the cleaning staff. They will all welcome you and make you feel like family.

I was so impressed with the Melia Cayo Coco ! The most important to me was the food and the cleanliness and I was very satisfied. The public areas including the lobby bathroom was always clean. The dining room buffet areas were clean and tidy. The variety of food at breakfast lunch and dinner was excellent! The entertainment at night was very good, something for all tastes. I especially liked the singer Jorge, he has the entire crowd singing along with him. There was enough beach chairs for everyone and the pool area was kept clean. The pool does not cleaning as well as the ladder into the broke needs to be fixed as it is coming away from the wall. My room was in building 62 with a lovely renovated bathroom but I wanted to be closer to my sisters room so they moved me very quickly to building 97, right beside her which I appreciated! The service at this resort is very good, most of the staff is friendly and they acknowledge guests with smiles. The one thing that I want to mention which sets it apart from other resorts is how it made me feel as a guest. I felt like I was welcome there, unlike other resorts, the staff were not on their phones when you entered the dining room , keep it up, it’s an important and appreciated feeling so thank you Melia ! The Melia is where I will be choosing next, I found paradise here 😁

Bad service restaurant at night. Gap door, easy to enter mosquitos. Very poor entertainment. Bad pillows, to hard and high, can cause neck pain. Nice beach. Clean Place. Good room an AC. Food Ok. Normal hotel, 5 stars? ... No way Jose.

My friend got bed bugs bite and staff wasnt helpfull at all. We got lies mutliple times that the bed was checked by them but wasnt checked at all. Staff wouldnt change rooms as well. Very unprofessional! Food was aweful. There was barely any enterainment. Never going back. Full of grumpy old people.

Once again, we had an Amazing time, at Melia Cayo Coco. Best place to have a Mother/Daughter's trip. As always Gippsy did an amazing job, making sure our 3 rooms were side by side, lower floor. Thank you for everything that you do!! We were in Block 82, which is my favorite block, very quiet, but still close to everything. 8212, was my room, second time staying in this room. We stayed in block 85, and 86 on previous visits, but 8212 is my favorite room. Large patio, King bed, sitting area, the housekeepers do an amazing job, keeping rooms clean. Very friendly to talk with, always leave them a tip, and gifts, they really appreciate everything you give to them. Our housekeeper loved coconut bars, I will make sure to bring lots on our next vacation. The check in was very quick, we got there late night, rooms were ready and waiting. 24 Hr snack bar service is amazing, great food (although this time there was a little less choice, we expect that due to their supplies) Actually one day they were serving pool side, very nice to have a waiter come around for drink orders. It is not needed though, as the bar is only a few steps away from the pool. (still a nice added touch) Lobby bar, awesome Espresso Marini, was so de-lish, Mom and I had a few everyday. My sister did try off their drink menu, Zombie ( lol.. it will make you a Zombie, if you are not used to a very strong drink) Mai Tai, she preferred her Strawberry daiquiri. Rum Punch was also very good. One thing we noticed, drinks are made different by different employees, would be nice if they all had the same recipes to follow, same measurements, for more consistent taste, no mater which bar you would order from. Buffet, was great, always lots of choice as usual, we really enjoyed, at the omelette/egg station, there was a pancake mix also, had one every morning. We tried the Italian, it was awesome, great atmosphere, and the food and service was 2 thumbs up. We would like to also mention, Heikel, he was a window washer for years we visited, and this time we were unable to find him, until we asked our server at the buffet, he was moved into the kitchen, congrats to him. Got to speak with him for a min, and give him his family gifts. He is such a wonderful, hard working young man. To all the Staff there are way to many to mention,(from the gardeners, cleaners, servers, cooks, animation team, customer service, check-in desk etc) Thank you for making all our vacations memorable, without all of you, Melia Cayo Coco would not be as special as it is. We just left Aug 29th, (Mother/Daughter's trip) and my Hubby and I are already booked for April 25-May3rd. (can't wait to come back and enjoy our stay once again) First trip ever for my Sister, and she loved it. Cheers!!
