Best Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Best place we’ve ever stayed! They were attentive, extremely nice and wanted to make sure we were taken care of. , I didn’t have to carry around a credit card and just charged everything to my room. If we decided to have lunch or drink by the pool. It was great! Their pool is awesome! Rooms are cleaned every day and free water is also given every day. We will be back. I am all so extremely picky when it comes to hotels.

July 4th Girls' Weekend

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Stayed here for three nights over the July 4th weekend for our annual girls' trip, and overall we had a great stay! A special shoutout to Diego at the front desk—he was so warm and welcoming, greeting us with a complimentary glass of champagne upon arrival. We arrived before check-in, and although our suite wasn't ready yet, he happily stored our luggage so we could start enjoying the pool right away. We were a group of five staying in a one-bedroom suite with two queen beds, two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, living room, and balcony. The layout was perfect for our group and one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. Having two bathrooms made getting ready so much easier! The living room sofa pulled out into a bed, which wasn't the most comfortable, but it was manageable for three nights. It would be great if the hotel considered replacing the mattress or adding a mattress topper. The only maintenance issue we encountered was that the sink in the main bathroom drained slowly. It wasn't a huge inconvenience, and we meant to mention it at checkout, but our 5 a.m. departure made it easy to forget. For the hotel's reference: Room 1206 could use a sink check in the main bathroom. Although we didn't cook (we were on vacation, after all!), the kitchen seemed well-equipped with a pot, pan, dish soap, sponge, paper towels, and place settings for four. There was also a Keurig with K-Cups provided, plus a refrigerator with an ice maker—a big plus! Housekeeping also stocked the fridge daily with four complimentary bottles of water. We also took advantage of the brunch buffet at Shor, the hotel's restaurant, and there was a great variety of options, including an omelet station, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, juices, and more. The location was another major reason we booked this hotel. It was an easy walk to restaurants, shopping, and Pier 60 for the gorgeous sunsets. The beach is directly across the street, where you can rent chairs and umbrellas, making beach days incredibly convenient. The pool was on the smaller side, and on the Fourth of July it definitely felt crowded. It didn't help that a few guests brought oversized pool floats that took up a lot of space. We also would have loved to see more umbrellas or shaded seating around the pool. There are only two pergolas, so unless you claimed one of those lounge chairs early, you were sitting in the full Florida sun. The pool bar also offers a daily happy hour from 5–6 p.m. with half-off beer and wine, although we were a little disappointed that frozen drinks weren't included. On the evening of July 4th, we attended the hotel's rooftop BBQ event, and it was definitely worth it. There was a DJ, delicious food, and a fantastic view of the fireworks over Clearwater. We were welcomed with a Chinola cocktail, which was tasty, although I have to admit I preferred the champagne we received at check-in! The buffet featured classic BBQ favorites like mac and cheese, baked beans, BBQ chicken, and brisket sliders. It was a fun and convenient way to celebrate the holiday without having to deal with the heavy traffic in the area. Overall, this hotel was a great choice for our girls' trip thanks to its spacious suite, unbeatable location, friendly staff, and thoughtful amenities. With just a few minor improvements, it would be even better. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family and would happily stay here again.

Spacious rooms, great location and friendly resort

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

I stayed here with family the week leading up to July 4. The resort had everything you needed. Location of the hotel put us close to everything. The size of the room was impressive. The room- I stayed in a 1 BR suite and it felt like I was staying in a villa. I even googled to find out if this property was ever a timeshare. Surprisingly the answer was no. We made use of the 2 full bathrooms, full kitchen and spacious living room. Everything was functional and fine. The sofa is a but worn but not a deal breaker. The kitchen is a little light with kitchenware but we made due. I did ask for a frying pan and one was promptly brought to the room. The resort - Again, had everything you needed. There were activities, a pool, access to the beach across the street, easy access to pool towels, a hot tub, restaurants and a kids activity room. I also appreciated the public space in the hallway on the way to the beach that had some tables, chairs and electric outlets. It was a nice place to catch up on work. We also made use of the free laundry. You'd think one set of washer/dryer per floor would not be adequate but we didn't have to wait when we were ready to wash a load of clothes. Staff is very friendly. They started to remember our food orders and went out of their way to make things right. For instance, the AC was not working properly and we called maintenance twice. It was finally fixed after the 2nd visit and we were provided a credit to our room for the inconvenience. These gestures go a long way. Location - the hotel is close to everything and a few minute walk to the pier, the beach, many restaurants, shops, and area to board cruises. We didn't feel like we needed a car to go anywhere. Bottom line- Hyatt Regency is a great hotel, especially for families. We had no complaints. We would come back again.

Nightmare don’t do it

Went here for a 1 night getaway and ended up getting ripped off Booked through Priceline and it went bad almost immediately. Resort fee, Self parking fee of $36 but Valet $40 and a $75 dollar incidental hold. Laid down my Credit Card and that is where the problems really started We booked a double queen for my wife and adult daughter. They gave us a king. When I called they said another room was not available so I consented to a rollaway bed Someone decided to charge a $93 meal to our room. Apparently very easy to do. We rented a beach chair for $20 and had to add a mandatory $8 40% tip. Then 2 dayafter they charged us again. When I noticed our bill was doubled on my CC statement and called the hotel they initially took the stance the charges were valid. After investigating and some argument they did refund the $93 dollars for the meal but flatly refused to refund one of the double charges for the chair. Nick the manager read me the bill and tried to insist they only charged me once despite it showing on my bill and a separate charge on my CC. There is absolutely no control of someone just using your room number and if they do they don’t care to check and hope the unsuspecting guest doesn’t catch on. Shame on you Hyatt was a loyal customer to your brand and have stayed at many of your hotel I guess Marriott gets my business going forward since you obviously don’t want it per your manager Nick
