Hotel Chais Monnet & Spa

Beautiful hotel with amazing rooms in Cognac. One of the comfiest beds we have had in ages. Well located for visiting the Cognac houses and a short walk to the river. Roof top bar served great cocktails with views across Cognac. Lovely art and architecture and very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome.

Loved the place! Agree with the other 5* reviews. Fab room with all the required accoutrements. Large indoor/outdoor pool. Fab restaurant staff, so gracious & humorous, especially Erwaan in the Michelin restaurant and Tomos in La Distillerie. One small quirk that could be improved. You couldn’t seem to access the sun loungers without going through the spa. Which meant changing into flip-flops provided. It would also have been useful to have a bit of an introduction to the spa.

Everything about Chais Monnet is splendid. The historic site, the architecture, and most importantly, the staff. I had an accident prior to arrival and was thoroughly bandaged. They immediately dispatched a security officer and concierge to examine my would, treat it and rebandage. Truly very, very solicitous care and much appreciated. Our room was quiet, well-sized and clean. The Michelin-starred restaurant cannot be bettered. Very innovative menu. The wait staff and sommelier were excellent and very helpful. The less formal restaurant was fine as well and also had a splendid breakfast buffet. The location of Chais Monnet is perfect for exploring Cognac by foot. We visited Martell, Otard and Hennessey and had excellent tours. For us, staying at such a historic site was a bonus. Everything about the property is well maintained, the building and the grounds. All neat and clean. This was our fourth visit to Cognac. If we have the good fortune to return we will stay here.

Charming hotel in the heart of Cognac with fabulous restaurants, a lovely spa and great views from the rooftop bar! Room was lovely and spacious and dog friendly. They made us feel very special with welcome treats etc. Fabulous river walks and easy access to lots of nice restaurants

Great breakfast, amazing and fast service, stylish decorations and good location. I would say it’s best hotel in cognac. Nice pool and very helpful and thoughtful personnel.the only comment, dear management, Please turn off the airconditioner control system at night, that switches off automatically at nighttime or change blankets for thinner for summer time. It’s horribly hot with blanket and cold to be totally uncovered . Or at least provide extra bed sheets to use instead of blanket.
