The design of Saffire Freycinet Australia is unique and instantly recognisable, just like its location. The unmistakable peaks of the Hazards mountains are framed by the main building’s roof-line, and the suites below present like waves peeling on the shore. Designed by award-winning Tasmanian architect Robert Morris Nunn and associates Circa Architecture, the buildings are conceptually organic, reflecting the surrounding environment. Saffire Freycinet offers guests Luxury Suites, Signature Suites, and Private Pavillions, decorated in an eclectic mix of tradional and contemporary furnishing. Each of our accommodations features alluring views with generous areas for your private relaxation, and an abundance of luxurious amenities to make your stay a most memorable experience.

This is one off the bucket list and lived up to expectations. Although very familiar with the area and the amazing Hazards the view was still captivating and enjoyed from our suite and the main building. We arrived early and left late but was made to feel welcome and relaxed quickly. All meals were fantastic and we really enjoyed the cocktails and bubbles on offer. Very comfortable bed and spacious room. A few suggestions to improve (this is not a complaint just an observation) While most staff were very professional and knowledgeable it was clear there were a few who needed a bit of work to reach the standard you would expect. Slow meal service and cleaning of the room was only ok. Water marks on surfaces in the bathroom and while sitting in the bath looking up to the ceiling to see cobwebs in the heating vent isn't 5 star either. Don't let this put you off, still a must do destination and we hope to go back one day.

Saffire is a hidden gem nestled among the trees, overlooking the ever-changing hues of the Hazards. It exudes world-class excellence in every way. The service and hospitality from the entire Saffire team are exceptional, with remarkable attention to detail and outstanding offerings. This was my second visit, and it most certainly won’t be my last.

We recently returned from what we believe was our eighth or ninth stay at Saffire Freycinet—an extraordinary property that has held a special place in our hearts for many years. The natural setting remains breathtaking, and the warmth of the welcome is something we have consistently appreciated. As always, Corinne and Phillipe were standouts during breakfast and lunch, blending professionalism and humour in a way that makes each meal a pleasure. Lecy also continues to impress with her sharp attention to detail and proactive care. We were pleased to meet new team members like Liam and Lorianne, who show great promise. However, as returning guests familiar with Saffire’s high standards, we did observe a few areas where the overall experience has begun to slip—more noticeably on this most recent visit: -Pre-arrival coordination was surprisingly clunky, with unclear communication around payment that created unnecessary back-and-forth. -Staffing and service levels appeared stretched, with several newer team members lacking the training and refinement we’ve come to expect. Service was noticeably slower and less cohesive, likely a reflection of leaner staff-to-guest ratios and an influx of less experienced personnel. -The dining experience, while still enjoyable, lacked the variety and creativity we’ve come to associate with Saffire. The breakfast and lunch menu remained unchanged for four days, and dinner options also felt pared back. For short stays this may go unnoticed, but for longer visits, it starts to feel repetitive. -We also felt a shift in ingredient quality, with dishes appearing more modest and cost-conscious. The culinary experience, once a clear highlight, felt diminished in both execution and ambition. -Restaurant leadership on several evenings felt disorganised and lacking in the calm, assured presence typically associated with Saffire’s dining experience. We understand there may be a new team leader, and further support and development may help ensure the atmosphere remains smooth and refined. -Our spa experience did not meet the standard we’ve experienced in past visits. The massage lacked cohesion, and the treatment ended abruptly, without the thoughtful closure we’ve come to associate with the spa. -And finally, during a heavy storm, water leaked into our suite, soaking a personal laptop. While the team responded with a kind and appreciated gesture in waiving our spa treatment, the incident does highlight a growing need for more rigorous property maintenance. Despite these setbacks, we were glad to share the Saffire experience with friends who joined us, and there were still many beautiful moments. However, this visit didn’t quite live up to the exceptional standards we've come to associate with Saffire. This feedback has been directly conveyed to the new GM. We hope this feedback is taken in the spirit intended—as encouragement to maintain the level of excellence that has defined Saffire for so long. We look forward to returning and, we trust, seeing the property restored to its full potential.

Hi, stayed Saffire for three nights. Had the great experience. Happy with all the tours we have been joined. Bee keeper and the Oyster farm tour is the must. Just a little suggestion with the restaurant, most night shift I found with more experiences waiters and waitresses that very acknowledged. But the lunch session I found a few waiters and waitresses need more training. For example, my drink glass had a big chip, when I pointed out with a waiter, he didn’t say anything, just take it away, also one waitress forgot my desert order, I had to wait for 30 minutes without any attention until I asked, she said oops forgot it and waited another 15 minutes still nothing, so I decided to go. Understood some of the workers from WFH, but some good training for the details are important as well. Thanks Sherry

From the moment we arrived at Saffire, the service was nothing short of extraordinary. It’s rare to experience such a seamless level of hospitality, however every staff member we encountered was genuinely warm, welcoming, and remarkably intuitive. We never had to ask for a thing… it was already done! We stayed in the Mayson Suite and it was simply divine. Every little thing has been thought of, and we were not wanting for anything. The views from the room were simply magical, we were pinching ourselves the whole time looking out onto the bay. We also treated ourselves to the Day Spa. After our relaxing massages, we practically floated out of there (thankyou Amber & Hillary)! We’d like to give a special mention to Elaine, who greeted us with such genuine warmth and gave us a perfect introduction to the property. Corinne made each dining experience a pleasure, bringing such fun and great conversation. Lecy spoiled us at dinner and we loved talking all things travel. And of course, many thanks to Dylan for his very kind and attentive care throughout our stay. Saffire is a true standout. We’ll absolutely be returning, and highly recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable luxury getaway. It’s an experience you won’t forget.
