Set at the foot of an active volcano in Mexico's picturesque highlands if the historic Hacienda. Lush formal gardens open to vast expanses of unspoiled natural beauty. The eternal spring like weather is perfect for enjoying a wide range of outdoor activities while the Hacienda becomes the stage for fine dining, socializing or simply relaxing. The suites of the Hacienda de San Antonio reflect the rich traditions of Mexico's arts and crafts. Works by some of the country's leading artisans are on display. Each suite is individually decorated, creating unique spaces with their own fascinating stories. The three Grand Suites offer sumptuous light filled rooms that are unequaled anywhere in the Americas.

I spent four nights at Hacienda de San Antonio over New Year’s Eve. Strengths: The property is absolutely stunning. Beautifully preserved since the late 1800s, it is rich in history and immersed in extraordinary nature. The setting is peaceful, authentic, and visually exceptional. All the rooms are big and full of light. The staff is another major highlight, all local, incredibly warm, and genuinely eager to make guests feel welcome. A special mention goes to Antonio, our guide, who was outstanding: knowledgeable, punctual, and a pleasure to spend time with during horseback riding, ATV tours, and hikes. Flaws: The food is the main weakness. Considering Mexico’s outstanding culinary standards, the cuisine here is surprisingly average, with meat often difficult to chew. Service, while kind and well-intentioned, lacks polish and consistent training — delays, missed wine and water refills, and occasional service etiquette issues occur. Sleep quality could also be improved; the mattresses and pillows do not meet five-star expectations. Overall: An exceptional property with remarkable staff and setting, but in need of improvements in cuisine, service training, and sleep comfort to fully match its potential.

While the property is stunning as is the scenery, the food is absolutely terrible. -5 stars. Extremely chewy meats, burnt coffee, etc. The worst food I've had in Mexico (I've been around 10x to the country all around). Unfortunately the nearest town is around 30 minutes away so you're trapped. It's funny because the property (as does its sister resort Cuixmala) market themselves as having self contained organic farm. I can only assume they're skimping on quality to save money because how can it be this bad? The land looks arable! There's a volcano providing nutrient rich soil.

The Hacienda de San Antonio far exceeded our ( high ) expectations! This place is so far over the top it is hard to even explain it. Staff, property, accommodations other guests all fabulous Safe travels from Cross Border express into Tijuana terminal And easy flight with Volaris Under 3 hours to Colima - Colima Airport is a bit third world ( ladies bathroom has no seats on toilets ) - but everyone was nice Hacienda driver picked us up in new suburban and drove us about 40 minutes through both sugar and coffee plantations - beautiful country - Arrival was special With staff
