This resort was taken over by Hyatt, & the deferred maintenance of the previous owners & Hyatt still shows. Pros: some of the staff, especially Scott McNabb, Night Audit, were excellent & customer-oriented. Also, Housekeeping was especially attentive. In 50 years of being a guest at many hotels all over the world, I've never experienced the personal level of housekeeping service that I did here... when I left the "do not fisturb" sign on my door, Housekeeping took the effort to text me asking if I still wanted service (I'd requested it at check-in) & when it would be convenient! Wow! Most hotels would just skip your room if you had the DND sign on your door when they passed by. Cons: Upkeep of the resort is lacking: the railing on the deck outside the buffet restaurant is sad, peeling wood stain that cheapens the feel of the resort. Also, the elevator from the parking lot to the top level of the Main Lodge needs to be vacuumed daily as there are leaves inside the elevator all the time. Also, the previous night's cocktail glasses left by guests on the outdoor walkway were still littering the railings & ledges of the walkway the next morning. C'mon, it would take 1 staff person 5 minutes to collect these at the end of the evening. It seems that maintenance in general has been deferred which keeps this from being a first class experience. Finally, my room in Cripple Creek Lodge was categorized as a Mountain View room, but, at best, is a partial mountain view; the majority of the "view" is blocked by the room next door which has a balcony that extends 10' into the "view" for 368. As an "elite" guest, I appreciated the upgrade from a standard room, but please don't create expectations (a mountain view) that are subsequently dashed.

Cheyenne Mountain Resort is a beautiful place to visit, and I have nothing but good things to say about the main facilities or resort staff. Everyone working at the resort was friendly, helpful, and professional, and we very much enjoyed the time spent in the lodge. However, I would strongly recommend looking for another vacation destination if tennis is a priority for your stay. Since my last visit, they have changed the pricing scheme for access to tennis courts, and it felt like the on-site country club staff does not appreciate guests from the resort in general, which really negatively impacted our stay. More context – part of the cost of staying at the resort is “a daily resort fee of $40 plus taxes applied to each room of your stay in order to provide services and amenities that enhance the guest experience.” In the past, this logically included the ability to play tennis on the courts operated by the on-site country club. However, now that fee only gives you the privilege of paying another $30 per use of the tennis courts, which means it is effectively $70/day on top of the room rate if you want to play tennis. I was told there are two “first come, first serve” courts available to hotel guests, but we found they were overrun with weeds and did not have nets, making them effectively unusable unless you enjoy a hybrid grass / hard surface and travel with your own net (see photo). It should also be noted that we did not see a single other person on the courts, either from the club or the resort – so this does not seem like a supply and demand problem. In addition to this issue, my family also felt the country club staff was generally unwelcoming to resort guests, which may not be their job, but is frustrating when you’re paying hundreds per night to stay at a resort, as well as a premium on all your meals and beverages. At this price point, there are other options out there and we will be finding a new vacation destination in the future.

We had a large group event at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. The event involved many moving pieces and parts where attention to detail was important. From the arrival of our group members to the meals and beverages to two quick rain change plans to the assistance in the execution of the event, the Cheyenne Mountain Resort staff delivered! They helped to make our event a success!

Loved staying at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort! Amazing scenery and wonderful service. The rooms are spacious and comfortable (even the beds!). The staff went above and beyond to make sure that we had a good time. There is golf, tennis, pickleball, swimming (the pool is gorgeous), kayaking, a fully equipped fitness center, and much more. My friends and I had such a great time that we booked again for a 3rd stay.

I just returned from a quick weekend getaway to the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Several friends and I escaped to the resort to play pickleball and hang by the pool. The experience was fantastic! The facilities were in great shape and the staff could not be more helpful! Every employee we encountered was friendly, polite and professional. It is clear that customer relations is a high priority on this property and the entire staff is dedicated to making your visit one that you will enjoy. My friends and I will return often to this great getaway spot. I give it my highest marks and recommend it to anyone with out hesitation.
