Six Senses Con Dao

One of the best places our family has ever stayed - the service was more than amazing, the food was delicious, the accommodation was really comfortable and so perfectly positioned to enjoy the beach and views of the ocean. Our children loved the kids' activities and the outdoor cinema was great fun. The spa was lovely and getting to release two nests of turtles was the icing on the cake. Our only critique was that our snorkelling guide touched and stood on a lot of the coral and the visibility was not that great, but it was still a nice day out on a boat with a really fun picnic. Our guest experience manager Truc was a highlight of our stay, she was so helpful, always thinking ahead, and really made our stay special.

My wife and I recently stayed at Six Senses Con Dao as part of a much-needed vacation to unwind, recharge, and celebrate our anniversary. Having spent many years working in luxury hospitality myself, I can confidently say that this property delivered one of the most memorable hospitality experiences we've ever had. And while the resort itself is absolutely breathtaking, what truly makes this place exceptional is its people. From the moment we stepped off the plane, we knew we were in for something special. We were greeted at the airport with a shuttle, refreshing cold towels, and a welcome drink. Such a simple gesture, yet it immediately set the tone for our entire stay. Upon arriving at the resort, we were introduced to Tri, who would be looking after us throughout our visit. Tri was absolutely phenomenal! Knowing that we were celebrating our anniversary, he arranged thoughtful surprises, including a beautiful tea experience, wine, and special treats in our villa. He even helped arrange a special request for local snails that we had been eager to try. It's those personalized touches that transform a wonderful vacation into an unforgettable one. Tri made us feel genuinely cared for. Now, a HUGE shout-out to Phu, Wei, and Richie, the incredible trio behind the bar! My wife and I have always preferred sitting at the bar when dining. In my opinion, it's the best seat in the house! You get to interact with the people preparing your drinks, learn about the culture, and enjoy a more personal dining experience. Naturally, we spent most of our lunches and dinners at the bar, which meant these three gentlemen probably spent more time with us than anyone else at the resort! They were professional, personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely fun to be around. They even taught us Vietnamese words and phrases throughout our stay, which made our experience that much more special. We certainly kept them busy, but they never missed a beat. I also noticed Richie working as a barista during breakfast, which I loved seeing. As someone in hospitality, I appreciate a property that embraces cross-training and encourages its team members to develop skills across different areas. Smart leadership and great teamwork! Sang, the Front Office Manager, also deserves special recognition. One evening, my wife and I were talking about how incredible the stars looked from the island. Living in a city, we rarely get to experience a night sky that clear. Sang remembered our conversation and surprised us with a printed photograph he had taken of the stars. What an incredibly thoughtful gesture! He also shared fascinating information about the resort's sea turtle experiences. These are the kinds of personal connections that guests remember long after they've checked out. Annie from Guest Services was equally welcoming and gracious, always making us feel at home. We also had the pleasure of meeting Trang, the Restaurant Manager, while sitting at the bar. We enjoyed hearing her story, including her connection to Austin, Texas. What impressed me most, however, was observing how she interacted with her team. Having managed hospitality teams myself, I pay attention to those things. You can tell a great deal about a leader by how their employees respond to them. Trang demonstrated genuine warmth, professionalism, and mutual respect with her staff. She's clearly a tremendous asset to the property. Over at the spa, Tin gave us a wonderful tour and explained that we were welcome to enjoy the steam room and sauna after our gym sessions. Again, such a simple but thoughtful detail that made us feel welcome to enjoy everything the resort had to offer. We also participated in a complimentary essential-oil hand massage workshop with Sandeep, who taught us techniques we could practice on each other. My wife and I absolutely loved this experience! In fact, one of the things we appreciated most about Six Senses was the variety of complimentary activities available to guests. These experiences encourage you to slow down, connect, and truly enjoy your surroundings. Another wonderful team member was Poly, who I believe was working as a server. One evening, I wanted a cocktail before heading back to our villa. Although bartending wasn't necessarily her role, she went out of her way to accommodate my request and helped prepare my drink. No hesitation, no excuses, just genuine hospitality and a willingness to help. I appreciated that tremendously. Selena, who assisted us during breakfast, was another standout. She was practically a ninja! Whenever we needed coffee, extra dishes, or anything else, she seemed to appear before we even had to ask. Her attentiveness and anticipation of our needs were outstanding. On our final day, we had the pleasure of meeting Manjit, the General Manager. I particularly appreciated how personable and approachable he was. Watching him engage with guests and make his way around the dining area, connecting with different tables, spoke volumes about his leadership style. He clearly isn't the type of general manager who simply sits behind a desk. He makes himself visible, builds relationships, and takes a genuine interest in the guest experience. As a fellow hospitality professional, I have tremendous respect for that approach. Finally, during checkout, Chi at Reception was incredibly patient and helpful in answering a few questions I had regarding our bill. She was gracious, professional, and sincerely thanked us for choosing Six Senses Con Dao. It was a wonderful final impression before departing. One small detail I also want to mention is how consistently every team member greeted us with a warm "Xin chào!" throughout the property. Whether we were walking to breakfast, heading to the beach, or simply passing someone along the pathway, we were always acknowledged with a smile. That level of consistency doesn't happen by accident. It reflects a strong service culture and a team that takes pride in what they do. As someone who has dedicated much of his career to hospitality, I firmly believe that luxury isn't defined solely by beautiful accommodations, expensive amenities, or breathtaking scenery. True luxury is how you make people feel. Six Senses Con Dao certainly has the stunning villas, beautiful beaches, incredible surroundings, and peaceful atmosphere. But what sets it apart is the genuine warmth, attentiveness, and authenticity of its employees. We arrived hoping to relax and celebrate our anniversary. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and genuinely connected to the people who made our stay so special. To Manjit and the entire Six Senses Con Dao team: You have something truly special here. Please recognize the incredible individuals mentioned above. They are the heart and soul of your property, and their efforts did not go unnoticed. I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for my recent stay. This was my second trip to Vietnam and my second time staying at a Six Senses property. My first stay was at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, which left me with a wonderful impression. This time, I chose Six Senses Con Dao, which felt more secluded and had fewer guests. My Guest Experience Maker (GEM), Quan, was incredibly attentive, offering my mother and me thoughtful and sincere care every day. She was always responsive to our needs, no matter what we asked for. She helped us with many things, introduced us to the resort in detail, and arranged relaxing activities for us. From the reservations team who generously arranged a room upgrade when I booked online, to the housekeeping team, and to everyone at the restaurants, all were kind and friendly. The dining was excellent. The two restaurants—one serving Vietnamese specialties and the other Western dishes—were both delicious and prepared with great care. The natural environment is beautiful, and the sand on the beach is very fine. This place can truly be described as paradise, not only because of its stunning scenery but also because of the kind, attentive, and detail-oriented staff. It is because of them—especially Quan and her attentive care—that I will continue to choose Six Senses for my future holidays.

My experience here was great. Staff were attentive while not being overbearing, and the resort itself is located in a great area, allowing us to enjoy the beach while also visiting the city easily. The resort has one of the cleanest beaches I've had the luxury of experiencing, adding to the overall atmosphere of the area, where you can overlook the clear waters from your room and enjoy a sunrise. The rooms were also large and comfortable, with anything you could need easily available. Overall, had a wonderful trip, and am super glad I chose this location for my mum's birthday weekend! Everything about the resort made the celebration more special. Would highly recommend this for anyone looking to take a break from the busyness of city life!

For starters, the best Bun Bo Hue I’ve ever had is not in Hue or Saigon. It’s right here at this resort 😂😂. And if you’re not into Vietnamese food (you honestly should try some local cuisine!), their cold room is pretty amazing too 😍😍. I was so surprised to see that they even serve açai smoothies 😲. And if you’re not really into food, that’s okay, because this resort is wonderful in so many other ways. The villa is so cute, made entirely of solid wood and right on the beach. The main beach is also kind of private, so it basically feels like you have your own little beach, with tiny fish swimming around you. Coming from California, where the ocean is always so cold, being able to swim in warm water feels like such a blessing. And the view in the morning is beautiful. I can imagine that if I were traveling alone, I’d just sit on the balcony with a book, looking out at the endless sea and reflecting on life. And if you have kids, this place is a godsend. They have so many kids’ activities that you don’t have to spend your vacation coming up with “things to do” for them 😂. I honestly arrived at the hotel pretty jaded after a few weeks of continuous traveling and surgery, so I wasn’t really in the mood to do much for myself, or even think of things to do for my 5-year-old niece. We were so lucky enough to be able to send the baby turtles on the first day we arrived the hotel. Such a meaningful experience for my niece, (and myself of course) 🙏. And the resort has so many fun activities for kids that my niece absolutely adores the ladies who run them. Honestly, I think she loves them even more than she loves me, the person who literally sponsored her entire vacation. 😂😂. Oh check out their garden, they have a land tortoise that’s worth it for the kids. Overall, I’m really glad I ended up here, though I didn’t have a lot of time for myself (they do have a lot of adult activities. The only things I can do is yoga and some spa time). Whether you’re a foodie, a beach person, someone looking for a quiet place to recharge, or traveling with kids, there’s something here for you. I literally texted my friends to ask them to come with me next time just to fully enjoy the island as an adult 🤷🏻‍♀️. P/S: The cemetary here is much nicer than I thought. Of course it’s not Bonaventure Cemetery in Georgia but It hosts a resting place of a very famous Vietnamese heroine.
