Feel yourself becoming part of 71 Nyhavn Hotel’s history. You are initially impressed with the unparalleled location in Copenhagen's historic Nyhavn district. Entering the hotel, housed in two stunning heritage warehouses in a united luxurious style, the interior inspires you with charming, rustic warmth instantly making you feel at home. The restaurant, Il Rosmarino, offers a full menu of Italian inspired dishes. The rooms and suites all have a timeless, Scandinavian look with a humble respect for the warehouses’ souls and the charm characterizing the hotel – fitted with modern necessities such as air-condition, wireless internet, Nespresso machines and mini bar. From the southern side of the building, the rooms face the canal where the beautiful museum ships and the clucking water await you, offering one of the best views the city has to offer.

71 Nyhavn is located at the end of the busy and very picturesque Nyhavn pier district. Thankfully, it is far enough away from the tourist trap restaurants to remain quiet and calm. Unfortunately, a great location does not determine a hotel’s rating and this is by no stretch of the imagination a 5-star luxury hotel, as advertised. I have travelled the world extensively and stayed almost exclusively at 5-star hotels. The rooms are small, the bathrooms are tiny, the Carpe Diem beds are uncomfortable and lumpy, no water bottles are provided in the bedrooms (you can drink the tap water, but who wants to do that and you can’t take it with you), the TV continuously dropped channels and picture, and shut itself off, the wifi drops multiple times at night, and the soap dispenser in the bathroom reminds me of what you would expect to see in an airport public toilet. We selected the, ‘Executive Double Deluxe View’, and were placed on the 1st level. We opened our curtains to see people looking back into our room from the hotel restaurant, day and night. There was no privacy and we were forced to keep the blinds closed, missing out on the view. The definition of a 5-star hotel is considered, “Properties that typify luxury across all areas of operation. Guests will enjoy an extensive range of facilities and comprehensive or highly personalised services. Properties at this level will display excellent design quality and attention to detail.” This property does not meet this criteria. The aircon control on the wall in the room was so worn that the hotel engineer was called and said it would need to be replaced once we leave. The toilet didn’t have sufficient water pressure to flush a small amount of toilet paper (again the hotel engineer had to be called) and the maid left a toilet brush from a previous guest that was not clean on arrival (it remained there for the entirety of our stay). The window coverings let in as much light as they keep out. I did ask if we could move up to a higher level to enjoy the view without feeling like we were on show and were told we would need to upgrade our room again - for an extra $500 per night. The saving grace of this hotel is their staff. Mads (Matthew) as a stand out as he checked us in and out. He was wonderful. Very friendly and full of advice for sight seeing around Copenhagen. Unfortunately, the staff do not warrant the very high prices this hotel charge for an average hotel and experience. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Actually it was March 2024, but this is a really good hotel with a decent breakfast and it’s in a wonderful location. Staff were really helpful and I would absolutely stay here again

We had such a wonderful experience at 71 Nyhavn. Our 4th floor suite was delightful — comfortable and charming with plenty of space for our family of five. The staff was so helpful and breakfast was outstanding. We loved the location — Nyhavn harbor is so charming and fun, and we walked everywhere. Highly recommended!

The location of this hotel could not be better. The staff is warm ad accommodating and the Italian restaurant Il Rosmarino is excellent. Be advised that parking is extremely limited and expensive as it is everywhere in Copenhagen. Climate control in the rooms is a bit unpredictable. All in all we truly enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is historic and the location is right in the middle of everything. The hotel is not very quiet until after 1 am due to the overwhelming crowds at the canal. This a great old building but it is in need of updating. The room size and quality was not worth the price we paid. The front desk staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations.
