NH Collection Copenhagen

The hotel is well-located and beautiful. Unfortunately, showers in both our rooms wouldn't drain, which we discovered in the morning. There were also long hairs on the bathroom floor from the previous guest. Staff basically gaslit us about the hassle and potential discount ("why did you not report this until the morning?" "Were we not able to resolve the issue?") Basic functionality should be operational at every price point, but particularly at this one, there is generally a higher expectation that things will function properly, and a commensurately higher expectation that the staff will make things right. Both of these expectations were not met, and the staff failed at (1) acknowledging that there was a problem (2) documenting the case for other workers (we had to continually re-explain ourselves as we escalated) (3) offering flexible solutions to compensate for the disruption and hassle. They said they could not offer a reduced rate because it was a third-party booking--however, typically a partial refund can be offered in such a circumstance and staff seemed either unaware or unwilling to assist, saying instead that they could only comp any extra amenities or requests (room service, minibar etc). The manager was friendly and apologetic as to the inability to compensate but not for the circumstance in the first place, and all staff encountered were oddly defensive as to why we would expect a discount when a basic room feature wouldn't work, since they were able to resolve it so quickly (it took roughly 30 minutes and again, required us to shuffle rooms to maintain privacy). Of the 5 hotels we stayed at during our stay, this is the only one without functioning shower drains, and it was by far the most expensive. Also the breakfast is outrageously priced.

Let me start this review by stating that I am a very demanding customer. There are no excuses and this hotel needed none. What a superb stay we had at the NH in Copenhagen. Where to start?! The room was impeccable, the air conditioner fantastic, the design, the lighting, the bathroom and the quiet. Now lets talk about the service, wow, fantastic! From the welcoming check in to the breakfast staff, to the staff at dinner and at the bar that provided me with many delicious teas during my stay at the hotel. Mind you, these were different people. Last but not least, the interior design of the hotel, the roof top, what can I say…certainly will be back to enjoy this gem in Copenhagen.

A nice hotel a bit outside the center (20 min walk). Big spacious superior room and nice bathroom. Good and various breakfast.

Great location. Quiet comfortable environment. Charming staff. Superb breakfast. A five star base for exploring the area.
