Well placed hotel with a history of design and tradition

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We like this hotel a great deal. It’s really well positioned for the railway station, Tivoli and Strøget. There are excellent - expensive and cheap - restaurants nearby, and there’s a taxi rank right outside. Reception and concierge staff are excellent, there are fantastic views from the upper floors, and the only negative experience we have ever had was with some of the breakfast staff, some of the time. Almost all of them were really good. Welcoming, friendly, and attentive at both breakfast and dinner. A couple of the guys on two mornings really seemed to think the hotel was being run for their convenience, not the guests’. This was really unusual, and I hope the management sort them out before we are next in Copenhagen.

We would stay again

We had a great 4 day stay at this hotel. The desk and concierge staff were pleasant, efficient and helpful. The 8th floor room with a view of Tivoli was very clean. We had 2 chairs and a table, little refrigerator, comfortable bed and decent linens. The lighting is good, adequate storage and plenty of outlets. Heated bathroom floor and magnifying mirror and good shower pressure. The breakfast is marvelous and caters to many cultures. There is an option to have a cooked to order egg dish. Plenty of umbrellas to borrow for those rainy days. The only negatives and certainly not a deal breaker are the room window was very dirty , so difficult to enjoy the lovely view to the max. Probably a difficult goal to have clean windows on a large building. The lovely lobby and restaurant are on the main level, however to use the lav, you have to go down a narrow curving stairway. There is probably an elevator? The location worked very well for our exploring.

Overpriced - worn out and unintersted

If you go to Kopenhagen: You have to accept to pay a lot of money and that being said we think with that there is quality. , kindness and a good room. Vefore mention all the negatives of this 60ties left over : We are fair and tell the reception - after arriving and before leaving. But they had absolutely no interest- lur status as Premium members for a decade is probably less important if you can count on a ( still) trendy city and Asian groups. So all we mention here was being told gently to the staff manager before leaving; Our upgrade was a corner „ room“ - rather a rabbit hole on the 14th - and it was with pleasure to here all the neighbours. The room - we told the lady - smelt of smoke, the radiator was bubbling- the bed -probably a bit younger than the building. For this amount of money - and we have tracelled all our life- you can easily stay in Paris kmor London in a fine place. This building - the ufly rooms are in nees of renovation. To think that the loyal clients pays every price might be deciving. Staff and restaurant is fantastic! But the hotel is not worth 4 stars.

LOVED THIS HOTEL SO MUCH

Loved our stay at the Radisson Royal Copenhagen. From the minute we entered, Miriam at the front desk had everything handled so professionally and promptly for us. Lovely that as VIP members we had the opportunity to experience a Corner Suite at the top floor of the hotel. It's all very lovely and chic without being pretentious. The room was beyond superb. Gorgeous bed and bathroom. Lovely fresh furniture. Never a wait for the elevators considering this is a huge property. Location very close to Copenhagen Central Station. And literally across the street from Tivoli. Breakfast was the best we have experienced at a Radisson property. It was all great, great, great. Can't wait to return.
