Check in mistakes Not a five star hotel and not for the price Beds uncomfortable and u shaped. Noisy rooms due to thin walls and music played at the lobby area which is heard in rooms No turn down service , towels were not folded by cleaning, not sure if this is something new in the hotel industry ! Cup with tea bag left for 2 days in room Sorry but not up to standard

My recent stay at Villa Copenhagen was profoundly disappointing and fell far short of any reasonable definition of "luxury." Despite their claims, this hotel operates on a fundamentally different standard than true luxury establishments like Mandarin Oriental or Four Seasons. The room size was misleadingly advertised, including the bathroom in the stated square footage, creating a cramped and unappealing living space. Noise was a constant issue, making rest difficult. The hotel’s suggestion that guests should pre-communicate "sensitivities" to to noise or the provision of a mini-bar is frankly absurd and reveals a bizarre understanding of hospitality. Basic amenities like toothbrushes and shaving kits were not provided and were only available upon request, with no clear communication about this policy. This seems to be a transparent cost-cutting measure, rather than any genuine commitment to sustainability, especially since unopened items could simply be reused. Furthermore, the chipped water jug in my room was not just inconvenient—it was a significant health hazard, demonstrating a shocking disregard for guest well-being. This hotel should reconsider its water service and opt for safer, packaged alternatives. Perhaps most egregious was the inconsistent and seemingly retaliatory service. I was offered a free late checkout upon arrival, but when I later raised concerns about train noise, the same staff member effectively dismissed my issue without any attempt to resolve it. Coincidentally, this same individual then denied my daughter a late checkout, which I can only interpret as an act of revenge. Villa Copenhagen needs a fundamental re-evaluation of its service standards, guest expectations, and commitment to actual luxury. Until then, I strongly advise against staying here if you value genuine comfort, attentive service, and basic safety.

Bigger hotel than what I usually choose but didn’t feel insanely touristy. Love the location and breakfast (wow)! Room was cozy. Bar too crowded - no seats available. Was raining so didn’t use the pool but would have otherwise - nice feature.

If you’re considering this hotel through the Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts program, I recommend looking elsewhere. While there are some positives, the service, design, and execution fall far short of expectations. Pros: • Location: Central and walkable. It may seem slightly out of the way at first, but you’re within 10–20 minutes of most places by foot. • Bars: There are two bars — only one operates daily, but both have skilled bartenders and great drinks. • Lobby: Lots of natural light thanks to skylights. Beautiful space overall. Cons: • Room (Corner Jr. Suite): A major disappointment. Though it’s listed as 500 sq ft, the layout is baffling. Closet space is scattered and inefficient. The bathroom is tiny — barely enough room for one person, with zero counter space and a shower that’s unusable unless you turn it off while soaping. • Check-in Experience: No one at the door to greet or assist with luggage. We hauled our bags up a ramp and had to figure out where the front desk was. The check-in agent seemed new and unprepared. No one explained the room’s features or walked us through the setup. • Amex FHR Benefits: Underwhelming. No upgrade. Late checkout required 24-hour advance notice (thought it was guaranteed?). As for the “welcome gift” — I had to call and remind them, and they left a tube of hand cream on my suitcase the night before checkout. • Room Setup: Confusing and inconvenient. Essentials like the iron and robes were hidden away in random spots. Closet design felt like a puzzle. • Room Service: Spotty. Requested extra towels on the first day and had to call again to follow up. Bottom Line: If you’re drawn to trendy or modern hotels and don’t mind mediocre service, this may still work for you. But if you expect genuine hospitality, refined service, or true Amex FHR perks, I’d strongly suggest staying elsewhere.

Went to Copenhagen for 3 nights with my husband during our 6 week Europe vacation and stayed at the Villa Copenhagen. We booked through the Amex Fine Hotels and I am surprised that this hotel is on the list. Upon arrival, there was no doorman to greet or help with our luggage which we thought was a little odd but just walked in to the front desk. The gentleman at the front desk did not acknowledge our reservation through Amex and any of its benefits whereas usually all the hotels have a print out of the benefits which they provide us upon arrival. He said it was his first week at work which is not an issue but then the hotel needs to have someone supervising him so he can learn his job well.He did not give us any details regarding the amenities of the hotel like restaurants, bar, pool etc and we had to inquire ourselves. The room we booked was a suite but was very non functional in terms of the space usage and layout.Bathroom was extremely small, towels were thin and rough. Our "welcome gift" for booking through the Amex Platinum was a hand cream that was sent to our room the third day after we asked where our welcome gift was (which is usually a local fruit, chocolate or bottle of wine that is placed in the room upon check in).Overall I would say it was a very underwhelming experience and we would not stay here again. We are pretty laid back with our expectations but this hotel definitely is not up to standard with its service.
