Last night, we were invited to dinner at the American Kitchen restaurant at the Loews Hotel in Coral Gables. Although the restaurant is in the lobby area of the hotel, it feels very cozy. There is a great large bar where you can eat, indoor tables facing the open kitchen, and many outdoor tables facing the plaza. The food was very good, and the cocktails were also enjoyable. The prices were reasonable for Miami. However, the best part was the ambiance, created by the music spun by DJ Diego from Napoli, Italy. We had to ask about the DJ because the music added such a wonderful touch to our evening.

Checked in with ease on a Friday afternoon. We were given bottled water at the reception desk, but watermelon water at the hotel entrance was also an option. The property was meticulously clean. The rooms are modern. The cord on the iron in 1709 didn’t work properly. That’s the only negative thing can say. The bed was extra comfortable. I slept longer than I intended to. The entire hotel staff was pleasant and professional. Alejandra in the Americana Kitchen is a sweetheart.

We travel to Coral Gables several times a year to visit our kiddo who is a junior at UM. We were excited for this hotel to open. The hotel was very clean, great location, and we enjoyed lunch at the hotel bar. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms were huge! Great amenities, pool was nice and service there was top notch. Will stay here again!

So I’m sitting here in my room at 10pm at night and there is jackhammering happening on the floor above me. I went to the front desk to find out why they had authorized construction at this time of night. I was told that there was damage that they had to be “immediately” repaired. But they promised me that it would stop by 11pm for sure. Who in their right mind does construction in a hotel at this time of night?

Overall, a really great hotel with very helpful front desk staff who are well trained, and able to assist you. We ran into a key issue, that was promptly rectified, Rooms are well appointed, quiet, and I found the food at the hotel quite delicious.
