Relaxing and affordable for the start of our vacation.
My wife and I stayed at the River Lee hotel for the first time as part of our retirement holiday and my last visit to my hometown of Cork. The hotel is a little tired and upon reading the sign in the hotel room saying "do not to leave valuables in your room" even though a safe was provided made us a little concerned about our choice. Well that's about as much negativity I can say about our stay. From the minute we arrived to departure the staff could not have been more helpful. We decided to dine at the restaurant twice and I must say the food was excellent on both occasions. Breakfast had an excellent presentation and great value for money. Another good feature of the hotel is the flat rate for parking and at a very affordable price compared to other hotels we have stayed at. The room was to a very high standard of cleanliness and an excellent range of personal hygiene products are included. Overall we had a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend The River Lee to anyone that are on a visit to Cork.

It’s a winner.
Beautiful hotel. Wonderful location in Cork, walking distance to the English Market and many restaurants and pubs. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive to needs. Special thank you to John who brought me a pot of tea late at night after the executive lounge was closed and to bartender Olan. I hope to return again.

Amazing breakfast
Fantastic hotel,the staff were friendly and helpful.Breakfast buffet was amazing, with many choices and includes a hot order from the kitchen too.Carpark was a bonus.

Clean comfortable hotel close to city centre
Positives: excellent breakfast, friendly staff, clean comfortable room, short walk to city centre, tasty bar food. Negatives: air con didn't work in room (too warm), parking is extra charge

Not worth the asking price
Very disappointed with the hotel quality. Rooms are from the last century and cleaning service is not doing a great job at cleaning the rooms properly or even change the towels Receptionist refused to give me an invoice because it was booked through booking.com and had to waste another 30 minutes to get it by phone. When we arrived we were given 2 single bed rooms (which can’t even be joined!!!) and when I asked for an upgrade/different room type the receptionist asked for my name and 2 seconds after told me they don’t have anything else. I don’t even understand what was the point of asking for my booking name if you already knew you didn’t had anything.
