The River Lee

Top 3 of 25 hotels past year, not even top 10 on cost. Superb. This was my second stay at this fantastic hotel. I have now spent 10 days here over the past month and I feel that I have a good handle on this wonderful place. First, the location is just perfect. One of them many things that I love about Cork is that it feels like a village, a town and a city all in one place. I have met some wonderful people here that includes the Staff. I have found the Staff uniformly excellent, save for one individual working in the bar (who was unhelpful and brusque). I would like to mention everyone by name, but unfortunately, I do not have everybody’s names. In particular, I would like to thank Karolima, Ricardo, Helena, Esmeranda, JP, Carlos, Kevin, Sofia, Carlota, Sharon, Lia, Nia, Gloria, Vitalina, Denis and Kosta. I apologise to anybody whose name I’ve forgotten and will add to this review in due course if and when I can rectify that. Rooms, food and drink are superb. I have not yet tried the leisure facilities. Breakfast is a particular highlight. Kosta runs a superbly well-oiled machine and he is one in a million. He consistently goes out of his way to help guests and it is a delight to spend time in his company, intruding because of his encyclopaedic knowledge of Cork and things to do here. I have stayed in over 25 hotels over the past year and this is one of my top three whilst not even being in the top 10 in terms of expense. Bravo and thank you. Deeps 🙏🏾 ps The sole problem I have experienced is that service from housekeeping is occasionally patchy. The issue gets sorted out once one speaks to a manager: but it is is regular issue and it lets down the rest of the hotel’s operations. Otherwise, this hotel is perfect, at least for me.

Modern city centre hotel with underground parking. About 20 min walk to main shops and 20 mins to UCC Nice rooms but river view not really impressive as overlooked by houses Coffee in rooms instant coffee and no fresh milk but coffee bar in lobby very nice Corridors to rooms very dark ! Some eco initiative i guess but a bit strange Breakfast fantastic Bar area really nice Restaurant was great - food and staff Reasonable price

We’ve had a truly magnificent weekend made very special by the staff of The River Lee Hotel. I would like to mention Gabriel in particular who really depicted “service with a smile”. He was so accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. Professional , personable and extremely efficient. As well as that, all other staff members made us feel like we were the only ones there! We will most definitely be returning to this hotel for any future special occasions.

Had 6 nights at this lovely hotel very very clean lovely staff .breakfast was free as booked with hotel. all the choices you could need .took so beautiful pictures of river and cork will be back soon and will stay here near all shops walk to city family and friends nearby
