The River Lee

Location is some way outside the main city centre, therefore quieter than some other hotels in Cork, which is our preference.. Plenty of space in the public areas. The room was both generously proportioned and comfortable, although the air conditioning could have been more effective, making sleep a particular challenge.. Service at breakfast was delightful whereas in the River Club terrace it was patchy with multiple mistakes made. Had to report in-room safe as not working twice before it was fixed.

Having stayed at the River Lee many times in the past this was the best visit ever. Everything from the service to the facilities was top class. A welcoming hotel with personnel who went out of their way to make our three week stay memorable. The River Lee personnel work as a team and each member took care to identify us by name and while friendly were never intrusive. The Grill Room and River Club restaurants consistently deliver top quality food and a highly professional service in very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing surroundings. The Cocktail Bar provided a welcome evening retreat. Rooms are comfortable with excellent facilities. Guests also have access to a swimming pool and gym. Overall the feeling was of a family hotel as opposed to an impersonal big chain. The River Lee provides an excellent centre for accessing the surrounding area and is within walking distance of the City Centre. We always try to visit the 'Cork Arts' and 'Everyman' theatres, the cinema and places of interest like 'Nana Nagles' and the UCC University during our stays and this year we enjoyed the very varied programme offered up by the 'Cork Midsummer Festival'. All being well we look forward to revisiting the RIver Lee next year.

We spent one night in this lovely hotel. Great location on River Lee. The staff were so pleasant & helpful. We requested early check-in & got it. Also asked for quick lunch & again this was done. The food & bar decor is lovely too. Breakfast was excellent agsin, so was the service. It was truly a very enjoyable stay.

Very attractive hotel close to city centre. Beautiful outside seating area and indoor conservatory. Food from the bar was great. Rooms were well appointed. Short ride from the airport 20 euros. Very much enjoyed the stay. Super friendly staff, special mentions to Sharon on reception who was really welcoming and gave us some good tips on the city and Titas behind the bar. Exceptional service with a smile.

Just a quick walk to The English Market, a must see. Many shops and restaurants outside the hotel, we picked Istanbul Quality Oriental Kebab which was off-the-chart Amazing. We also went to Cafe Mexicana, the flavors hit home and the service was great. All in all, the stay was friendly, service was great and the rooms super clean. Easy parking, a must in Ireland topped the stay.
