Glorietta Bay Inn is a century-old mansion originally built by sugar magnet John D. Spreckels in 1908. Its envious location, overlooking the bay on lovely Coronado island across the harbor from downtown San Diego, is just one block from the beach and steps away from a fleet of upscale shops and restaurants that line charming Orange Avenue. The rooms, housed in both the original mansion and a more modern annex, are all newly-remodeled with varying appointments. Those who slumber beneath the storied roofs enjoy extra plush bedding and fabulous views, plus turndown service with milk and cookies left bedside for late-night noshing. All guests are privy to an expanded continental breakfast and afternoon refreshments. The inn also has a refreshing swimming pool for anyone wanting to take a plunge.

My wife and I loved the Glorietta Bay Inn, very close to restaurants and stores. Right across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado. Cute hotel.

This is right across the street from the Dell plus the atmosphere is very nice and the breakfast is great.

A very nice experience. The standard rooms are a little small but quiet. Also, it is right across the street from the hotel, Del Coronado food, bars, and shopping. Went on wine festival weekend. We got tickets to the festival, which was great. I do wish they had a bar at the hotel. They used to serve wine in the afternoon, but that seems to be gone.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this hotel! The staff are wonderful. There is an ingredient book out for breakfast so I can keep GF-DF compliant while away. It is a reasonable walk to the beach. The room I was appointed was LOVELY! The interior is nostalgic. . .just the way I like my hotels!

We've stayed at Glorietta a number of times over the years, always appreciating the quaint mansion, great location and included breakfast. The rooms vary in size, but ours was really quite tight, dated, and dark. The bathroom could not have been smaller. There was a hint of odor from the carpet and stains on one chair. We borrowed wineglasses from the dining room; they weren’t clean. Finally, the Internet wasn’t really up to loading Google maps promptly (about 1 Mbps), let alone streaming. All in all, the hotel would benefit from a refresh.

We stayed at Glorietta Bay in the Sugar Baron Suite. The overall experience was outstanding with service world-class. We would definitely stay at the Glorietta Inn again.
