Glorietta Bay Inn is a century-old mansion originally built by sugar magnet John D. Spreckels in 1908. Its envious location, overlooking the bay on lovely Coronado island across the harbor from downtown San Diego, is just one block from the beach and steps away from a fleet of upscale shops and restaurants that line charming Orange Avenue. The rooms, housed in both the original mansion and a more modern annex, are all newly-remodeled with varying appointments. Those who slumber beneath the storied roofs enjoy extra plush bedding and fabulous views, plus turndown service with milk and cookies left bedside for late-night noshing. All guests are privy to an expanded continental breakfast and afternoon refreshments. The inn also has a refreshing swimming pool for anyone wanting to take a plunge.

During our stay at Glorietta Bay Inn, we were so impressed by the professionalism and helpfulness of the entire staff. The housekeeping and outdoor teams kept the rooms spotless and the grounds beautifully maintained. When my car unexpectedly broke down, my husband had to come tow it home. I explained the situation to the general manager, Claudia, who went above and beyond to make a stressful situation so much easier. She quickly moved me to a more spacious room that could comfortably accommodate two people and even reserved two parking spots—one for my husband’s truck and one for the trailer he was hauling. Claudia and the front desk team provided outstanding service throughout our visit. I would highly recommend staying here—not just for the warm and attentive staff, but also for the prime location, free breakfast and parking, and clean, comfortable rooms. We can’t wait to return!

Downgraded place with old facilities and cost constrains. You can find much better for that price. Pool and breakfast pretty much inexistant, they only really clean the room one day out of three and the rooms look like coming out of a 20th century motel.

Old word charm with modern convenience. This beautiful historic mansion is very well maintained with pristine bathrooms. A wonderful breakfast is included. Walking distance from the beach and local restaurants, once you arrive there is no need for a car. Bike rentals are nearby with reasonable rates.

Was very nice place and super clean. The staff gave me a little 2elcoke bag with snacks and a bottle of water which was a nice touch. The shower pressure and temp were very nice and it us a great location. There are 2 parking lots, so never had an issue with parking. The only thing I would have liked is more UBS ports for phone charging. I think there was only 1 in the room and it was on the desk nit next to the bed. There is no elevator, so if stairs are an issue for you, make sure to get ground floor room.

We stayed at Glorietta Bay in the Sugar Baron Suite. The overall experience was outstanding with service world-class. We would definitely stay at the Glorietta Inn again.
