Reviews for Adare Manor

Spectacular location but uforthunately fell short on service

This was our 2nd stay at Adare and the first was absolutely magical so we returned for a birthday weekend. The first thing we had requested was rooms close together as we were traveling with my daughter. They could not have been farther apart in different buildings, different floors. But they were both lovely rooms. However things did not get better-- our itineraries which we booked long in advance were unfortunately messed up and we had to reduce to 1 session with the golf pro when we had booked 2. The simulator was broken for games as well which we were not told in advance. They did apologize for this and take the charges off but again not what we were hoping for. The Carriage house we had reserved for 2 occasions but both times the beautiful porch area was reserved for private events which we were also not told in advance. We had to sit in the bar for one lunch. Fine but hardly the atmosphere we were looking for. The final straw was when we returned to our room on the final day there was someone else's things in our room with their names on it and when we went to check out we were given their invoice with their name and our room number. I have never had that happen and certainly not at a 5 star resort. For nearly $3000/night/room this was not even close to meeting expectations. On the plus side, the Oak room dinner was fantastic and the gentleman demonstrating the gun dogs was so informative and that was really special. And the spa services were completely amazing. So for perspective there were several large events/wedding during our stay which likely influenced our experience but we were still paying guests and expected more. The concierge was pretty subpar for such a resort and more training is needed there. There are many lovely hotels in Ireland so we will likely be moving on to try others. I am super glad we did not choose this establishment for our upcoming daughter's wedding.

5 star resort in all aspects except for one issue

The hotel, Adare Manor, is beautiful as are the grounds. Over 800 acres of manicured grass, trees, flowers, plants and golf course. The staff are outstanding, friendly and helpful. Falconry and golf were great activities, not to be missed. There are also plenty of trails for walking or biking and the town of Adare village is within walking distance. The hotel staff will drive you there in their shuttle. Only takes a few minutes. Dining options including Carriage House, Oak Room (Michelin star), and breakfast gallery were all magnificent. My ONLY complaint about this hotel is the air conditioning….coming from Texas, we are used to really good AC, and this hotel does NOT have it. Despite lowering my room setting to 16 celsius, the room never cooled down. Not even one degree. It had a tiny AC vent. for the entire suite, and I verified it was putting out cold air. Even with a fan, the room was somewhat warm and sticky. A resort of this caliber needs to invest in this and pronto. I think they need a bigger central AC unit that can really forcefully push out the cold air into the rooms. Other than this, (which was not a minor issue, in my opinion ), a fantastic, dreamlike place, to which we shall return.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Adare Manor. The State Room was well equipped and serviced nicely. The grounds are lovely and a pleasure to take leisurely strolls. Don't miss the new chocolate house. My husband the low handicap golfer was extremely pleased with the golf course. Evidently the Ryder Cup is being played there next year and he was very happy to play the course. We took advantage of some other activities and quite enjoyed the archery lessons. The Falconry program looked interesting and might be on board for a return visit. Adare is a large place with lots going on (weddings, etc) but it still maintains a certain charm. The only problem we encountered was that there seemed to be a staff shortage in some areas. Service in the carriage house was very slow for instance. Our reservation time came and went and we waited with others who also said their times had passed, but when we finally sat down, there were many empty tables. That said, the food was good and the service, while slow, was excellent. In spite of a few lapses, I will still give Adare Manor high marks. And because of the fabulous golf course, I might return again to keep my husband happy!

We had another superb meal at The Carriage House, following 18 holes ⛳️ The food did not disappoint, delicious and memorable. Even saw a celebrity or 2.. The atmosphere and ambience both inside and out is serene, magical and so special. See you in 2027 😎🙏

Where excellence lives

Adare Manor is one of the best hotels Ihave ever visited. The architecture is a constant and pleases the eye both in and outside. It offer numerous dining rooms and all are exceptional. Also there are several bars with the Tack Room bar offering a dungeon type intimacy. The food is exceptional the staff are exceptional the spa is exceptional the padel club offers excellent padel courts and a large indoor pool with sauna and steam rooms. The golf clubhouse also offers a restaurant and bar with service and quality unparalleled. There are simply not enough superlatives to describe the excellence of this establishment. Finally if that didn’t whet your appetite the golf course is beyond exceptional. Every play must have a caddy. The team of caddies are great companions and can be a great aid to your game. The Ryder cup of Europe and PGA of America have chosen this venue for the 2027 Ryder Cup. An Irish gem.
