Reviews for InterContinental Presidente Cozumel Resort Spa by IHG

Maybe not what you expect from an Intercon

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I mean, not the worst hotel on the island, but pretty poor value for the expense and name of Intercontinental. Were the rooms well maintained? Sort of. But sort of not. Were mosquitos allowed to invade via poorly-maintained seals around the outdoor shower door. Well, yes. Bizarrely, their ATM machine was broken, had been broken for a while, and was not due to be repaired for days more. Sure, we could get cash advances on a credit card, and sure it would incur a heft charge and probably poor exchange rate. Was this intentional? We were told how far and inconvenient it would be to travel elsewhere for food or entertainment (or even an ATM!). But then we borrowed a bike and reached town in like 5 minutes. They seemed to have a deal with the taxis, who always wanted at least 10 dollars for that trip into town, maybe a couple miles. There was a scuba/snorkel outfit, Scuba-doo, right on property. Very convenient, and every activity about 25% more than you would pay off the property. They were very nice, however. Were the food and drinks expensive? Sure. Was the beach nice? A bit rocky, but not bad. Was the pool nice? It was heated, which was nice.

Amazing staff - who make for an amazing experience

A top rate experience from a top Brand hotel. The staff really make this hotel. All very welcoming and friendly and incredibly attentive . We were upgraded on arrival as it was our daughter’s 21st birthday. The hotel wasn’t full, so getting sunbeds and tables at restaurants no problem but can imagine in peak season a different experience maybe. Snorkelling around hotel ok - not loads to see. Rental of gear is $20 per day and better to bring your own if you can. Food was good although I was struck with holiday tummy - could have been from anywhere but had tried to be so careful - pack Imodium ! Went on a snorkelling trip - again was ok but not loads to see and our boat had a family of 10 who stayed on the tequila before we set off - felt a bit outnumbered as they spoke no English and were very much a unit - and loud. All in all - a great place to visit and easy to get to Cozumel town by short taxi ride for restaurants and shops.

One of the most enjoyable day stay in Conzumel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We booked a day room as we were only visiting for a day from a cruise ship. We had done this at multiple resorts in Cozumel on other cruises. This hotel is by far the best though also the most expensive. The room was updated and had outdoors and indoor shower. The beach area was very long and it was easy to pick a quiet spot. Plenty of beach chairs to pick from. The hotel gave us a voucher for free 30 min water activity. We took a kayak and checked out some of the areas where we would later explore with snorkeling. There was one part with a shipwreck where lots of fish circulate. It was like being at an aquarium. Food choices were plenty and decent quality. Front desk service was very friendly and competent. Overall a really enjoyable stay and we would stay here if we come to this area for another trip.

Scenic beauty; great service; clean, modern hotel. Highly recommend; we'll be back for a 3rd visit, for sure. Awesome beach & outdoor pool.

Perfect stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Our stay here was outstanding in all respects! Located close to SAN Miguel de Cozumel the hotel is beautifully situated, convenient to town for dining or shopping with a short taxi ride. The hotel has four restaurants, all with excellent service. I really enjoyed the gym which was well maintained and had lots of equipment. There is a pleasant spa next door. Our room was spacious and well maintained with very comfortable beds, large bathroom with great toiletries, refrigerator, coffee maker and a comfy patio. Staff are friendly and very attentive. There’s also a dive shop for scuba divers and great snorkeling. All in all a wonderful stay.
