Michelin starred restaurant has rigid set menu and so, as we don’t eat lamb, we had to give it a miss. Other restaurant was ‘run of the mill’. Our first night’s sleep disturbed by dog barking in the adjacent room. Litter wrapper on bedroom floor. Toilet didn’t flush properly. Furnishings were good and bed was extremely comfortable. Paid extra for good view. Expensive but overall a disappointment.

Beautiful hotel and staff situated perfectly for visiting the Chateau and paddocks of Chantilly. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Courtyard an excellent setting for the evening cocktail and dinner. Room was so clean and comfortable with two large, comfortable chairs.

On a number of fronts, just expected better from Relais & Chateaux, we have stayed at other properties of theirs and had better experiences. Service from bar, to room service to departure was slow and they didn't seem to care, rooms and bathrooms need upgrading, wifi was horrendouse (3G)

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-night break at the five-star Auberge du Jeu de Paume Hotel in Chantilly, which was a birthday present. The hotel is ideally located for visiting the beautiful Château de Chantilly and its extensive gardens, as well as other local attractions. Our ‘Double Deluxe’ room on the second floor looked out over an inner courtyard and was very quiet. We felt lucky it wasn’t facing the busy cobbled street at the front of the hotel. Our room was spacious and had everything we wanted. It was decorated in a cosy ‘vie de château’ style, perfectly in keeping with the glorious surroundings. The bedding was very comfortable. The spotless bathroom was equipped with a bathtub, bathrobes, and slippers. We appreciated the separate toilet. We enjoyed the extensive breakfast buffet laid out in the stylish breakfast room. Service was friendly but a little slow. The hotel bar has outdoor patio seating, but the prices are on the high side (€10 for a beer). Since one of us has respiratory allergies, the only real downside of the hotel was the presence of reed fragrance diffusers in the lobby and the corridors.
