Negligent maintenance and a lack of staff make it a terrible experience. I wonder who ever gave this hotel 5 stars???

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

"This hotel has a lot of potential and is located in a beautiful spot, but negligent maintenance and a lack of staff make it a terrible experience. The only five-star aspect of this hotel is the price. There is no coherence or atmosphere in the hotel, and you can see that the staff is under immense pressure. We even had to comfort staff members after they were rudely reprimanded by domineering managers. All the restaurants were fully booked for our entire stay, so we had to eat in the general dining hall every time. We must say that the food was quite decent, but it was an incredibly chaotic situation. The private beach resembles a daycare, and there is nowhere to sit. The entertainment was subpar and even bothersome. The cocktails in the main building are nice, and that's actually the only decent place in the hotel. We will never return here and feel misled by the beautiful photos on the website. Booking.com also holds a significant responsibility knowing that we spent a fortune through their channel. Fortunately, this hotel was not our only destination in Crete during our vacation, or else we would have gone home depressed."

Probably the best holiday myself and my wife have had

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The hotel is kept very clean, the staff are very helpful and polite. The selection of food and the quality of food was excellent. It took me a couple of nights to adjust to the bed but that’s just me, once adjusted I slept like a baby. The facilities, in particular the private beach was amazing, I honestly couldn’t find any fault with the resort. The a la carte restaurants were exceptionally good, again the food was superb.

Amazing Food and Private Beach – But the Rooms Need a Makeover

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed at the hotel for a few nights, and there are definitely some highlights worth mentioning: The food was excellent – fresh, tasty, and varied. Another big plus is the hotel’s private beach – clean, comfortable, and gives a real sense of privacy and relaxation. On the downside, the rooms were very outdated – old furniture and a general sense of neglect in some areas. In addition, the room service was disappointing: slow to respond, and at times completely unresponsive to simple requests. Bottom line – if you're looking for great food and a nice private beach, this place is worth considering. But if the quality of the rooms and service is important to you, it's something to keep in mind.

Not a 5* star hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

❌ Not a 5-Star Hotel – Feels More Like 3 Stars We stayed at this hotel for the first time. Unfortunately, it does not live up to its advertised 5-star rating — at best, it deserves 3 stars. 🔧 Rooms: The rooms are in desperate need of renovation. The furniture is old and dirty. The balcony doors do not fully close, and mosquitoes come in through the ventilation system. One very odd design flaw — glass doors to the toilet that don’t close. Room cleaning is minimal: they only change the bed linen, but don’t mop the floors. 🍽 Food: One of the few positives — the food was tasty, with a good variety at lunch and dinner. Delicious desserts and ice cream. Only the lobby bar served quality drinks — those by the pools were mediocre. 👶 Entertainment: There was no animation or entertainment at all, making it especially boring for children. A big drawback for a hotel that positions itself as family-friendly. 🧭 Navigation & Signage: There are no clear signs showing where the restaurants are. On the first day, we walked around the hotel with a map several times and still couldn’t find the restaurant. Very confusing. The restaurant staff seems short-handed — tables are not cleaned promptly. 🌴 Hotel Grounds: The territory is large and green, well-maintained and watered every morning and evening — that’s a plus. However, the pool areas are not cleaned during the day, and overflowing trash bins near the bars don't seem to bother anyone from the staff. 🏊‍♂️ Pools: This was quite strange — pools open at 10:00 and close at 18:00. Most guests return from excursions around 16:00, and by 17:40 staff already start placing signs and ropes around the pools. People could easily enjoy the pool for another 1–2 hours. 🏖 Beaches: There are two beach options: Public beach — very scenic with crystal clear water, but small (only 12–14 sunbeds). The seabed is rocky and slippery, so we recommend water shoes. A lot of fish swim around your feet — a fun experience for kids. The beach is located right next to the promenade leading to local bars, shops, and restaurants. Hotel’s private beach — more comfortable with smaller pebbles and easier access to the sea. The water here is sometimes wavy, but the views are beautiful — great for photos. There's also a bar and small restaurant that’s open during lunch. 🧺 Towel Service: Towels are only available at the spa. In the heat, walking uphill just to get a towel is not a pleasant experience. It would be much better if towel exchange was available near the beaches. 👥 Staff: The staff is friendly and tries to help as much as they can, but it’s clear that there’s not enough of them to maintain full service, especially in the restaurants. Overall Verdict: The hotel has potential, but currently does not meet the standards of a 5-star resort. Major improvements are needed in room conditions, cleaning, organization, and service. For now, we cannot recommend it, especially for families with children.
