Reviews for Nana Princess

Wonderfull

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This resort truly deserves more than 5 stars. The amount of care and attention to detail was remarkable. Every single employee is incredibly friendly, and it's remarkable how much effort they put into fulfilling every guest's wish, and how they manage to do so. My expectations were exceeded by far.Although every member of staff was incredibly friendly, some stood out in particular. Joanna made my arrival easy. Sofia treated me not just like a guest, but like a friend. Laoura ensured that every breakfast was a pleasant experience. The service manager, Dimitris, was very attentive, and on the beach, Vasilis was truly friendly and helpful with his menu recommendations. I wish I could mention every single member of staff because they all deserve it. Thank you to the Nana Princess Resort for the wonderful experience.

A once in a lifetime holiday - to be pampered, spoiled and to totally relax.

Nana Princess resort is about a 40 minute drive from Heraklion airport along good roads, some of which closely follow the coastline giving great views over the bay towards neighbouring islands. On arrival at the Resort we were met by Sophia who gave us such a warm welcome it was like we were old friends on a return visit. Our check in was seamless and the glasses of Prosecco and nibbles were very welcome after our late arrival. We were given a quick tour around the resort in one of the electric buggies (which were available to guests at all times - just call reception) and then taken to our chosen room which was a waterfront suite with a Whirlpool jacuzzi out on the balcony. Although we had requested the jacuzzi to be heated on our arrival, there had been a problem with it which Sophia apologised for and assured us it would be rectified by the next day. As we had arrived late, this really wasn't an issue as by that time (11pm) we were ready for bed anyway! The suite itself was spacious, bright, welcoming and cheery. Everything was operated by touch button - even the net and main curtains! The amount of times my husband accidentally opened and shut the curtains whilst looking to turn out the lights, or raised and lowered the privacy blinds in the bathroom!! The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in and we had a great nights sleep. We woke up to stunning sunshine and a spectacular view over one of the resorts pools and down to the beach and bay. Breakfast - wow! The range and selection of breakfast items was amazing - you could have a basic Continental breakfast, with a choice of breads, 5 types of honey and many flavours of marmalade, or then again how about a full English breakfast - eggs, bacon, sausages (again, different varieties from chicken, turkey, beef etc) beans etc. There was Greek yoghurt available in normal or with Goats Milk, cheeses, a wide range of fruit, ham..the list goes on. On one day even Champagne and strawberries were available. Our main server was Laura - she and the rest of the restaurant team were friendly, pleasant and ever attentive to our needs. After breakfast Sophia caught up with us and informed us that the problem with the jacuzzi couldn't be fixed and offered us a different room as an alternative - this one with a private pool. Again the new room was spacious and well equipped, and having the pool was an added bonus for us. I have seen some past reviews that state the pool doesn't get the sun on it and was cold - but I can state ours had the sun on it all day and yes it can be 'cold' (set at 22 degrees) but guests can request it be heated to a higher temperature, which does incur a charge, but is well worth it! Room service is available 24/7 with a good range of meals available from snacks to full meals. In addition there are quite a few good restaurants on site and at the sister hotel next door - one of which is an 'all you can eat' style at 50 euros a head; well worth a visit. The bedrooms are cleaned twice a day, with the evening one including a turn down service. All the staff there, from management down to the maintenance staff were so friendly and the air rang to happy cries of 'Kalimera' or 'Kalispera' - depending on the time of day. We were there for 7 nights, and the weather was great on the whole, but we 'lost' 2 days due to thundery showers. Not an issue for my husband who took himself off to the gym for a workout each day and we tried the Spa indoor pool. This, to me was the only disappointment of the whole trip as the indoor pool is also set to just 22 degrees meaning it's chilly, rather than the warm pools some of expect when we hear 'spa' - but as the staff say - during the height of summer guests prefer it as it's a welcome break from the heat of the sun. To sum up - we had an amazing week at Nana Princess resort - thoroughly spoiled and well cared for by the staff and well fed indeed! My thanks go to Sophia, Joanna and the rest of the reception team - to Laura and all in the restaurant - to the housekeeping staff who do an amazing job on the suites, and to Dmitri and the other buggy drivers who zipped about silently each day ferrying us all around the resort. Would we go back? Heck yes!

Total Luxury

Easily accessed from Heraklion airport, this place oozes luxury and relaxation. After entering via the manned security gate, our car was parked by staff, welcome refreshments served in the vast shiny lobby and then we were whisked away on a buggy for a tour of the complex. We stayed in a junior suite with private pool and the sights and sounds of the sea a short distance away. The room is a gadget freak's paradise with buttons and controls for everything. One morning our Nespresso maker seemed to stop working and it was replaced with a brand new one within 10 minutes. The suite was immaculate and house keeping staff added extra daily touches with flowers and chocolates to make it even more special. The buffet breakfast has to be seen to be believed! It caters for all cultures and tastes and has to be the most extensive we have ever encountered in 40 years of international travel. Eating breakfast at Nana Princess with sea breezes wafting through the window and a violinist playing in the corner has to be one of the highlights of our holiday! All the communal areas are spacious and gleaming with attentive staff there to support and guide if required whether in the main buildings or at the beachfront. The guest relations staff were truly amazing. Joanna arranged for an anniversary cake to be presented to us after we let slip our reasons for bring there so early in the season. Sofia was a wonderful guide to the local area and an enthusiastic ambassador for the hotel. All the staff were cheerful and were so much more than just doing their job. Maybe because it was April and not so many guests to manage! We used the gym and spa but frankly the entire experience of staying here is a spa in itself. We did not encounter any negatives whatsoever. A very slick operation.
