Can’t wait to stay here again

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Bui Minh Thuan checked me in and throughout the entire stay seeing them each time, they were warm and kind. The epitome of a caring hospitality professional. I thought the price couldn’t be beat for this hotel. It’s an older building and a renovation would be a great refresh but it was totally serviceable as it was. My room was spacious and had everything I needed, including a desk for work or eating at. I needed a business center to complete some of my work. There wasn’t one but the front desk was great at helping me scan and print documents as needed. The only other thing I would have really liked would have been a full service spa, or at the very least, some massage services. Breakfast was good with ample menu options to keep me happy for three morning there. The dinner service was a bit more limited but there was always someone one available to help me with an order, even in the afternoon. My suitcase was separated from me by American Airlines and I worried about it for all of my furst day. The night shift front desk received it in the middle of the night and safely stowed it for me to retrieve when I woke first thing in the morning. I look forward to turning sometime.

A World Cup winner.

I'm not particularly demanding of hotels; as long as they're clean, comfortable and have all the amenities appropriate to their rating, I'm happy. The Fairmont ticks all the boxes. The only hotel we stayed in that had devoted a separate, large bar to the World Cup so top marks for that. Nice outside pool with lots of seating. Good location; not right in the centre of town but close enough to walk to most of the sights or get an Uber for a short ride. Visit the West End for some good shops & bars ( 15 min walk, 5 min Uber). Henrys is a short walk from the hotel for a really nice breakfast or any other meal. Special thank you to Jacqueline who sorted two rooms exactly next door to each other - a big help when travelling as a family. Finally, we really enjoyed Texas. A lot greener than we imagined and lots to see & do. In particular, every police officer we spoke to was friendly, courteous & helpful. We'll be back one day.

Legal reasons…

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The hotel is fully decorated for the World Cup and heavily promoting it, yet when I asked to watch a live match at the bar, the staff refused, claiming "legal reasons." To make things worse, they had no problem showing the games on previous days. It makes absolutely no sense to market a global event to your guests and then deny them the chance to watch it in the common areas. Utterly ridiculous and disappointing service.

Wonderful Weekend Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

I took a solo trip to Dallas over the weekend that lined up with the World Cup, so the staff was quite busy but very accommodating and helpful. The valet service was prompt and courteous. The front staff was friendly and always helpful. During my stay the toilet stopped running water, and after the maintenance man tried to fix it he decided it was best to move into another room. I received a room upgrade in the process and was happy with the resolution, thank you.
