The front desk, cleaning and bar staff are an asset to the hotel. Please note that this rating is no reflection on the staff, which are the best aspect of the hotel. They are helpful, courteous and positive in how they approach customers and their work. The Stonleigh is in an old building, which we appreciate and are drawn to. The room we had was lovely. Spacious. Big bed. Nice sized bathroom. The room’s lighting is terrible. Two night table lights, a desk lamp, a bathroom light and one freestanding not very bright light. The room was dark and gloomy. I understand someone in finance is looking to cut back on electricity expenses. Such a nicely designed room was depressing to be in. The bathroom did not have an exhaust fan, basic for many hotels. Most hotels we stay in provide a coffee maker in the room. There is coffee in the lobby in the morning. Sometimes you want a cup later in the day. Coffee and tea in the room is basic for many hotels. The interim physical fitness facility had nothing to offer. Two aerobic machines and a few, very few free standing weights. I realize it is interim, but not good. Pool is OK. The sitting area by the pool is pleasant with comfortable chairs and chaises. Next comment is no fault of the hotel, but something for potential guests to be aware of. The area around it is desolate, just many cold looking hotels and other buildings. No coffee shops, bakeries or stores to window shop and enjoy walking around the neighborhood. I realize that this is Dallas, but the area is highly uninteresting. A few blocks away is the outrageously expensive Crescent Hotel shops/mall. I understand that the hotel is being renovated. Hopefully they will take some of these thoughts into account

The valet at the Stoneleigh, Manny in particular, was 5 stars. Manny was very attentive, friendly, quick to get the car, and a joy to interact with.

The General Manager must have changed in the past couple of years and this hotel has taken a hit. It used to be my go-to hotel in Dallas before an awful stay in May 2024 where I brought the front desk a list of several items wrong with our room. We are Marriott Titanium Elite members and I was told a Manager would call me about our stay which never happened so I just resolved to find a new go-to place. Fast forward to this weekend and I was coming up here with a friend who booked the room due to location. I was hopeful I had a one-off bad experience in May of 2024. Nope. Same types of issues. When we first arrived (September in Dallas is very warm), we arrived to a room where the heater was on full blast and we could not get it to turn off. We called the front desk, they wouldn’t move us, so we waited in the hallway 10 minutes for the staff to arrive. He assumed they would change our room as well, but since they wouldn’t, he bypassed the thermostat and set a temp that would last 24 hours. We couldn’t touch the thermostat though. So even though a lot of people like it colder when they sleep than at other times, we didn’t get that option to change the temperature. After returning from our show at night, we decided we wanted to sleep in and were going to hang the do not disturb sign outside. Except we didn’t have a sign. We called the front desk and they had to deliver one to us (15 minutes). Bathroom: there is hand soap but no dish - very odd. In the shower, the body wash pump didn’t work so it couldn’t be used. We had to use shampoo for body wash. We had issues with the toiletry bottles in 2024 so clearly housekeeping doesn’t check these items. Housekeeping also didn’t realize the heat was on or that we were missing the do not disturb sign. Makes me wonder what else housekeeping misses. The bar isn’t nearly as well attended as it used to be either. Great location, incredibly mediocre hotel. Next time I will warn my friend. That was absolutely my last stay. It is not a well run hotel.

Spent a fun filled football weekend with friends at the Stoneleigh. Manny was very helpful and took excellent care of us. Can’t wait to go back next year.

It goes without saying that Le Meridien is a fantastic hotel-I had nothing but a great experience during my four-day business trip. Manny, the valet, and Sarah, my bartender, were absolute gems, bringing such positive energy and fun conversations to the stay. They really elevated an already stellar experience.
