Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek

The property was well maintained. The room was large, updated, and nicely furnished. The balcony doesnt have seating, though it looks like some patios do. The pool was intimate feeling and very calm for such a sunny day. The servers were fast and pleasant. The beers were ice cold! The gym had high end machines and freeweights, all connected to the spa so there was a steam room and sauna we used. Showers in thr locker room helped after we checked out late. Stayed for one night while passing through and found thr location to be nicely tucked away into a nice neighborhood with convenient access to the highway and a few minutes from some shopping. The staff were very polite and responsive, properly showed us around the room and helped us when we needed. They never felt obtrusive. We loved our stay and will probably go back in the future for a mini vacation.

Top notch service from the valet, bellman, in dining and manager. Bed was SO comfortable and I slept like a dream! Quiet rooms and beautiful property. I will be back for sure! Also highly recommend a massage! It was lovely with Andrea. Thanks again!

The best of Dallas. Exceptional staff, luxurious rooms, a wonder bar and restaurant, fabulous valet service, and even a resident mascot (the cat)! This is always my FIRST choice.

My wife, daughter, and I came to The Mansion for a quiet escape and we got exactly what we wanted. The staff were courteous. The room was spacious and very clean. Would return here for sure.

The Mansion on Turtle Creek occupies a special place in hotel history as the original Rosewood property, and that legacy is evident from the moment you arrive. The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was comfortable, well-maintained, and the service was exactly what one would expect from a luxury hotel. That said, I left feeling surprisingly disappointed. Having stayed at Rosewood properties around the world — including Santa Barbara, Munich, Vienna, Kona. and São Paulo —I’ve come to view Rosewood as the gold standard in luxury hospitality. Unfortunately, The Mansion no longer feels aligned with the rest of the brand. The physical property feels very dated, not in a charming or historic sense, but in a way that feels tired and overdue for reinvention. Looking out over the pool area, I was struck by how bleak it felt—more institutional than resort-like. The atmosphere throughout much of the property felt dark, heavy, and frankly a bit depressing. I understand that this hotel is a Dallas institution, and many people undoubtedly have fond memories here. But luxury hospitality has evolved dramatically, and this property has not kept pace. With new luxury competitors entering the market, including Four Seasons, it feels like the time has come for a complete reimagining rather than incremental updates. This review is not a criticism of the staff, who were excellent, nor of the history of the property. It’s simply that one of the world’s greatest hotel brands deserves a flagship in Dallas that reflects where Rosewood is today, not where it was decades ago. For me, this felt more like a beautiful memory than a world-class luxury hotel.
