InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort

I stayed At Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort during the last week of February 2026. Here is my opinion based on my stay. First of all, my gf and I stayed at Hyatt Regency at first arrival for 3 days and wanted to stay at Intercontinental since it had a 4.9 rating on reviews and I think it's known in the area as one of the best resorts in Danang. I am a IHG Diamond Ambassador member. There was no real benefit with Diamond Ambassador membership with the exception of the lounge access. When you arrive, it is very pleasant with the view you see from the check-in lounge. There were many people checking in so it seemed a bit hectic during that process. While we were waiting for our room to be ready, we decided to go down by the beach and we took the gondola/tram. You can also choose to take the stairs if you want some exercise. We went down to the Long Bar. It is a very nice atmosphere and quiet. The options for the Long Bar were these strange floating chairs that were so uncomfortable. So we opted for the flat padded booth. Sorry but that is a bit uncomfortable to sit and try to eat. But the place was very pleasant to relax. * King Suite room: The decorum is black and white with mirrors everywhere. At first look, it looks nice but when you go to the room, it is dark. The room itself is fine and we stayed in a King Suite. I really thought this was a suite but just a King room with a bigger balcony. When we first arrived in the room, there was this strong moldy smell from the AC. It was making me cough quite a lot. I guess I have to understand since Danang is very tropical and humid so all that mold will get stuck in the AC vents. We turned off the AC during the night and turned it on while we were out of the room. The bathroom door in the room was creaky loud so if you are going to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, you will wake up your partner. Also, the hardwood floors in the room will creak quite a bit. This is the design of the resort and rooms but it's a bit loud. The shower was an open shower where the water flows down the hardwood floors. So if you are using a showerhead, water will most likely splash everywhere. This leads me to wonder how much mold is down between the drain area. The balcony is nice but it is advised not to leave the door open as mosquitoes will go inside your room. So it is a shame that you cannot open the doors and window to let him some fresh air and sunshine. There is a plugin mosquito repellent in the room. Not sure how well that helps or not. When you check in, they do tell you lock the balcony door tight as monkeys can get in the room. Yes there are monkeys! I guess that is a cool part but be careful feeding them. ***Bathrooms in the resort: I understand this is the design with black, white and mirrors. But in the bathroom is just weird. I walked in once to the men's bathroom in the Long Bar area and there was a boy finishing his business in the long open urinal and the guy was looking at the boy when I walked in. I was going to say something but I was just a little late to see if this guy was looking at the boy while he was urinating! Just mirrors next to the urinals! Just crazy!!! Resort should protect privacy and especially protect children! The resort is in a lagoon type of location so there are no waves at the beach. Since it is protected by the hills on the right, left and rear of the resort, it is not as bright. Sun will set early and sunrise will not be seen because of the hills. The resort is located in the tropical area in the mountains, yes there are many many mosquitoes. While dining at Terra Mare with open doors to the beach view at night, yes there will be many mosquitoes biting you! The restaurants are nice but can be pricey for what you get. We ate at Terra Mare, Tingara, Long Bar, Citron and the Lounge. The resort itself is nice and for the most part very quiet. Most of the pics are nice to take as so many people are into the "cool" pics for instagram but that's about it from what you see on the website. My GF and I are the odd ones who didn't love this resort. We actually loved Hyatt Regency Danang we stayed at before we came to this resort. If you plan to go visit the city, Bana Hills, Hoi An, and other parts of Danang, this is probably not the best area to stay. The drive can be an additional 20-30 min depending on traffic. If you plan to stay at the resort, it is nice and pleasant but it is not without flaws. Good luck in where you choose to stay. I would not stay here again. I enjoyed Hyatt Regency on the ocean and a Suite with a separate bedroom and two bathrooms more with a lower price than Intercontinental.

From the moment we arrived we absolutely loved the resort. It’s has breathtaking views, impeccable service and fabulous restaurants. The beach is perfect and the resort is huge. The ratio of staff to room is 4 to 1. I’ve stayed at world class resorts costing twice as much they don’t compare to this resort. We are coming back next year and staying longer.

Incredible property with inspired architecture, luxurious accommodation, fine cuisine and a wide range of outdoor activities available onsite …. Or you can simply retreat and relax in the idyllic beachside jungle setting. We chose this based on recommendation of our travel agent. We wanted an elegant, quiet beach resort to get over jet lag from our trip from Canada. We arrived at night to this beautiful resort and had no idea how gorgeous it was until we woke the next day. It’s situated in a private area outside of Denang. Only 1/2 hour drive from the airport on a peninsula in the South China Sea. The resort is comprised of many stand alone buildings with huge rooms/suites and all with views of ocean and jungle. It has super comfortable beds, elegantly appointed rooms and massive bathrooms with rain shower. Ours could be made “outdoor” by opening the shutters in the bathroom. Everything had been well thought out and thematic elements of the hotel are echoed everywhere. Lots of plugs throughout the room and excellent wifi. Twice daily maid service and dyptique bath products. Citron restaurant has amazing breakfast buffet. Best I’ve seen with local specialties and lots of tropical fruit, fresh juices and smoothies. French influence abounds in the coffees and stunning pastries which change everyday. Service is top notch and views amazing. If you sit outside you might get to have breakfast with the local monkeys. 50 m outdoor infinity pool is great for laps and beach is well staffed with lots of very comfortable elegant chaise lounges and umbrellas. Chairside service with wifi app is quick. They even offer free sunscreen, cold wash towels and water. Beach is clean and they rake it every night. Maison 1888 is the fabulous onsite michelin 1 star french restaurant which is a must visit if you’re a foodie. Teppanyaki restaurant is also amazing. Property uses a very efficient what’s app messaging system for booking services and buggy pickup (property is large and on a steep hill, electric buggies are essential if you’re tired or cant walk a lot). We walked a lot but needed the buggies as well. Make sure to take the self guided architectural tour of the property.

Our stay at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort was truly unforgettable. The property is stunning, with incredible views and a perfect blend of luxury and tranquility. A special thank you to Vy Tran, the Resort Assistant Manager, for her outstanding care and attention. She made our stay feel personal and seamless in every way. Exceptional service, beautiful surroundings, and an experience we’ll always remember. Highly recommended.

We had an absolutely amazing experience hosting our business event at this incredible resort. The service was outstanding, the food was of the highest quality, and the meeting rooms were exceptional. Everyone was happy, everything was handled with the utmost professionalism, and the entire experience exceeded all expectations. This is truly the best hotel I have ever experienced.
