Reviews for Sea Cliff Hotel

My 2nd home

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This trip marks my 16th year of visiting or living in Tanzania. It also marks my 16th year of staying at the Sea Cliff Hotel. I have been asked a number of times why I always stay there and my answer is always the same: "It's the people who work there". The Sea Cliff continues to be a first class hotel and I reallly enjoy staying there. What sets it apart from other hotels is the people who work there. I can't say enough good things about them

Back office unprofessional

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

My experience with Hotel Sea Cliff Dar es Salaam (a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts) has been an absolute nightmare regarding financial transparency. While the stay may be one thing, their back office operations and after service are deceptive and unprofessional. For months, I have been fighting a constant battle to receive a correct invoice and a promised refund. Despite checking out months ago, the hotel has failed to provide a refund, and more importantly any proof of transaction to show they even attempted it. To make matters worse, they refused to issue an invoice that correctly matched the amount paid. It is a fundamental right of a guest to receive an accurate receipt, yet I had to fight for this during my stay and long after. This isn't just a 'delay.' It is a total lack of integrity. If you stay here, be prepared to spend months chasing your own money. Travelers, beware of this 'luxury' property's billing practices.

A luxury stay with everything at affordable prices. Facilities, restaurants, spa, pool, gym and top service.

An absolutely magnificent stay with five star service, comfort, facilities and hospitality. We have been utilizing the Seacliff Hotel for several years as our base in Dar es Salaam for overnight stays and special weekends when in Tanzania and have never had a bad experience. The bedding and mattresses are top class, cleanliness is a priority (even under the beds), a variety of restaurants with poolside service, a top class gym and casino. Something for everyone in the family and many sights to see nearby. A truly magnificent blend of antique furniture and historical pieces with modern efficiency such as magnetic charging on the desk in the room.
