Hotel du Golf Barriere Deauville

We booked here with a golf package. Unfortunately, the receptionist was not aware of the package offering at check-in, which didn’t make a very professional first impression. The hotel is very large, with surprisingly tiny elevators. There were many families with children, so it was quite noisy during our stay. The room was fine and had a nice view of the golf course and sea, but the lack of air conditioning during a heatwave made it very uncomfortable. Breakfast and dinner were ok, and we enjoyed the golf course. Overall, it was an okay stay, but we probably wouldn’t return because the hotel is too large for our taste and the absence of air conditioning is a major downside.

Only stay at this hotel if you are a golfer. It is in the middle of nowhere. Staff unaccustomed to 'tourists'. Emergency water issue. Hotel shut down. Relocated to Hotel Normandy in town. It was the best!

I stayed here during the Deauville Film Festival. I was given a beautiful large room, view of golf course. Plenty of closet space + espresso machine. The mattress is the Most Comfortable Mattress in any hotel I’ve stayed at this year (I’ve stayed in an estimated over 100 hotels this year) - so this says a lot! Room service was excellent (photo attached) Toilet separate from Shower. The hotel offered a shuttle service to/from city center which was extremely helpful. Rooms included complimentary Evian water and buffet breakfast. Concierge & Porter service is excellent.

Needed a room in the Golf for one night only, i found their telephone booking system just too difficult so agreed to drive out of town to the hotel to make the booking face to face and check-in immediately if possible. Whilst waiting at Reception an extremely angry (very smartly dressed) couple were checking out, bitterly upset that their complaint about a smell in their room had not been handled correctly by the hotel management. That should have been a warning to me. I then spent 30 - 40 minutes having difficult conversations with the reception staff over what was the best room rate available until i finally lost patience with their lack of flexibility and officious manner in dealing with a customer so left and stayed elsewhere.

We have stayed at this hotel many times! Perfect for couples and with children :) the breakfast is great, the rooms are great. When we booked with our baby everything was set up perfectly to take care of her as well as a bed and treats for our dogs!
