With its snow-white sand and crystal-clear Emerald Coast waters, Destin has always been a family favorite. Our luxurious yet inviting 170-room resort fits in beautifully with the surrounding state park. Original works by local artists adorn the hotel walls, while spacious terraces and a rooftop provide the perfect space to unwind and take in the pool, Gulf and sunset views. Enjoy paddle boarding, take a bike ride, and rejuvenate in the Salamander Spa. Indulge in fresh Gulf-to-table seafood in either Horizons, Primrose or at the sushi bar.

This place is fantastic!! My husband and I booked this last minute and decided to go for a long weekend. We travel all the time, and I am a hotel snob. This place totally exceeded my expectations, and I will be back. The spa is incredible. We did a spa day and both got massages, which were the best massages we have ever had. I also love that they have an adult only pool with multiple restaurants and bars on site. The fire pits every night are incredible also. If you are on the fence about booking this hotel, do it. You will not be disappointed.

My review is for Chis your amazing bartender at Horizons. Very personable, professional and hard working. You can tell he takes pride in his work. He makes bartending look like an art! Chris is an absolute asset to your resort. The resort was also beautiful with friendly staff.

We had our wedding and stayed at the Henderson April 2025. Hannah was our resort contact and she handled everything we asked for and more. We had so many compliments on the food. Chris and Rron were our bartenders at the horizon bar and gave us amazing service. The resort is exceptional - easily the best resort in Destin. We will be back frequently and absolutely would recommend to anyone considering the resort to stay or for a wedding venue.

We recently stayed at Henderson Beach Resort and Spa, booking two rooms for two nights with four children and three adults, and unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected — especially given the resort's reputation, price point, and caliber. From the moment we arrived, service was disorganized and disappointing. We had hoped to dine at the Horizons restaurant our first night, as we were exhausted and didn’t want to leave the property. Despite the restaurant appearing fairly empty, no staff member seemed capable of taking charge or accommodating us. There was no visible manager, and after one kind staff member tried to help us find a table outside, someone behind the bar loudly said, “I’m not getting in trouble for that” — instead of addressing us professionally or offering a solution. After standing there awkwardly with four tired kids for over 20 minutes, we gave up and ordered room service, which then took an hour and a half to arrive. To add to the frustration, we were told the rooftop restaurant couldn’t accommodate children because they don't serve kids' meals — despite this resort heavily marketing itself as “family-friendly.” We attended their Easter brunch, which was extremely overpriced compared to other local options, and honestly, it was just average — nothing memorable or worth the premium cost. Later that evening, wanting to wrap up the trip with a special memory for the kids, we tried to purchase their advertised s'mores kit for the bonfire. Online, it’s listed at $35 for four s’mores (already steep), but when I asked at the front desk, the staff seemed completely confused and unaware of the offering. After waiting around the property for two hours, I received a call saying they did find some kits available — but now they were $45. Overall, it felt like complete disorganized chaos, with an entitled attitude from many staff members who did not prioritize the guests’ experience. The property itself is beautiful, but the service was shockingly poor for the price tag. A few other notes: The ice cream bar has awful, very limited hours — inconvenient for families with kids. Helicopters from the neighboring tour company fly endlessly all day starting early in the morning until around 11 PM, so do not plan on sleeping in. Save your money and stay somewhere else if you’re traveling with family or expect high-end service. The property may be lovely, but the staff and execution leave a lot to be desired.
