The Foundation Hotel is an excellent choice, especially given its location directly across from Huntington Place. The property is very well managed, with a team that is consistently warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful. They create a relaxed atmosphere within a setting that feels sophisticated yet understated — “low-key” is absolutely the right word here. The overall value for money is outstanding. All meals are served in the spacious lobby bar and restaurant, which functions as a comfortable and versatile social space throughout the day. A highly recommended stay in Detroit.

The checkin was already really friendly and quick. The room was nice and clean. The windows were really dirty which was a small downside. The location is great as well.

The building is really unique and in a great area. It is about a 20 minute walk to Comerica Park, which was not bad and the neighborhood was safe. It is just about two blocks away from the waterfront area and parks and a couple of blocks away from Woodard Ave. which is a fun area with a lot of shops, bars and restaurants. The lounge, bar and restaurant area of the hotel is just spectacular and was a highlight of our stay. This is a great hotel. Do not hesitate to book your stay there.

Very happy with our choice of hotel in Detroit. This is something unusual and a bit different. We were very comfortable in our spacious room, the bed was excellent and it was very quiet at night. Decor is rather shabby-chique - but it works. Staff are approachable and friendly. Housekeeping was offered on request only - which suited us fine. The restaurant and bar area was generally very busy, but we enjoyed dinner and a Sunday brunch. Location is close the convention center and public transportation, such as the People Mover or the QLine, and worked fine for us as first time visitors to the city. Don't hesitate if you're looking for something more distinctive that your average Marriott or Hilton - recommended!

Absolutely amazing hotel, with thoughtful touches and exceptional service from the moment you walk in the door. Quiet! We slept great, ate wonderful food, and drank amazing drinks. The staff, from the restaurant to the front desk to the cleaning staff, were friendly and conscientious. And kudos to the cleaning staff, because every inch of the hotel is spotless!
