About the Hotel

Forty miles by seaplane from its legendary Per AQUUM sister, Niyama Maldives is a worthy newcomer. You'll find every bit of deserted island dream fodder here – tucked-away lounge areas that invite a nap by the water, overwater bungalows, infinity pools and a turquoise-heavy color palate that blends right into the horizon – but the array of indulgent activities also attracts a hip and active crowd.

Reviews for Niyama Private Islands Maldives

A wonderful place to relax.

We had the opportunity to spend our vacation in this beautiful resort. We were very pleasantly surprised by the resort's beautiful nature. A well-groomed and clean island. We had villa number 21. For us, it was on the most beautiful part of the island. I highly recommend lunch at the underwater restaurant Subsix. Great food, perfect space. Very nice staff: Takura Sam. Staff at Epicur Dewa, Fathik, Putu and many others. Every day, a man nicknamed Kokosman spread good mood and coconuts around the island 😀. We were extremely satisfied with the services on the island. The villa was perfectly cleaned twice every day. Very tasty and high-quality food.

Exceptional experience

I spent 8 days at Niyama Private Islands Maldives with my wife for our honeymoon, and it was truly amazing. Everything from the villas and views to the food and experiences was exceptional. What stood out the most was the service, every detail was handled with care and made us feel special throughout our stay. An unforgettable honeymoon and a place we would definitely come back to.

Heavenly Niyama

We just got back home after our 5th trip to Niyama and are still buzzing. This time we were lucky enough to stay in a refurbished over-the-water 2 bedroom pavilion and the room was stunning - 2 spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, a living room with a bar area and TV that rose out of the floor around a sunken sofa. Our own swimming pool and jacuzzi, over-water hammock, sunbeds and hanging chair. The view was seamless right out over the Indian Ocean. We spotted Dolphins, baby sharks and a manta ray from our decking. As we know the Island well, our mornings were spent lazing around in our pavilion before heading out for lunch - each morning Anil delivered our breakfast and laid the table out with such care. Coffee, fruit and handmade pastries. At the deli, Hussain made us feel so welcome. He even turned down the AC one day as we were too cold!! We loved the Poke Bowls and Build your Own Sandwich menus - especially as there were gluten free options. BLU is our favourite daytime location. Bakoo helped us choose Cabanas, and then brought complimentary water, towels and sunscreen along with a daily smoothie shot and iced towels. Riza in the restaurant helped us out at lunch time and allowed us to adapt menu options to our personal preferences. Complimentary water flowed and the service was seamless. I also want to mention the bathroom facilities at BLU - they are fully air conditioned and spotlessly clean! Sundowners at Surf Shack and Edge are a must - we were lucky enough to see Asanka, who remembered us from our first trip back in 2019. He made us feel like old friends. The water sports team are amazing and take safety very seriously - we jet skied, took a trip on a Catamaran and had the most incredible Sunset Dolphin cruise. Sadly we couldn't snorkel into deep water and enjoy the complimentary trip to another island as one of us was recovering from a foot injury, but the Blue Lagoon was enough for this trip. Frankie from Housekeeping feels like part of our family - his energy and positivity are infectious and seeing him every time we come back to Niyama is a highlight. The weekly cocktail parties are a must. Haf, the general manager and Laurent are exceptional with their warmth and humour. And the island staff walk round and make sure the whole event goes swimmingly. This time round Shafeeq was our Thakuru and he made sure that our stay ran like clockwork. Always available via WhatsApp and incredibly helpful. He also got to know our routine and was respectful of our privacy. Final shout out goes to Imran - the Incredible Cocount Man. He rides around the island on a bike and delivers fresh coconuts daily. We have known him for years. He is the most positive, smiley person ever. Always laughing and full of energy. We had a daily rendezvous at our Pavilion which made our stay extra special. Niyama is such an incredible place, where all the staff go out of their way to engage with you and make you feel welcome. For us it is like going back home - our 10 days in paradise each April. See you in 2027

If we had to sum up our holiday in 1 word…Paradise. Everything and everyone was amazing. This was a holiday of a lifetime.

We'll never get enough of this incredible island!

This was our third visit to Niyama and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in a two bedroom water villa which had recently been refurbished and was absolutely stunning. So spacious and stocked with everything we could possibly need (including an electric guitar!). We kept quite busy during our trip with our teenage kids loving the surf and tennis lessons and we also did a few trips, the highlights being a private snorkelling trip and a jetski trip to the sandbank. And one of the best things about Niyama is Imran, the wonderful coconut man whose smile and energy is contagious. He somehow remembered us from six years earlier and he came to our villa every day laden with coconuts and stayed until we had had more than our fair share. Thank you Imran, you are a superstar! Overall the service was excellent and the staff couldn’t do enough for us but there are a few areas where we think there is room for improvement. The pool areas at Blu and Epicure are looking tired and the sunbeds round the pool and by the beach need some comfortable mattresses to lie on. Also, in terms of dining, we felt we were a little limited and ended up in the buffet most nights. Tribal wasn’t our cup of tea and we found Edge very overpriced. We paid almost $1000 for two courses and a couple of glasses of wine and that was after the $70 per person supplement was removed. Nest was wonderful though. Overall, we had an incredible holiday and very much hope to return soon.
