Forty miles by seaplane from its legendary Per AQUUM sister, Niyama Maldives is a worthy newcomer. You'll find every bit of deserted island dream fodder here – tucked-away lounge areas that invite a nap by the water, overwater bungalows, infinity pools and a turquoise-heavy color palate that blends right into the horizon – but the array of indulgent activities also attracts a hip and active crowd.

Our experience at Niyama was exceptional. The whole team made us feel welcomed and cared for, always with a smile. A special mention to Zaid, whose thoughtful support added so much comfort to our stay. We look forward to returning, Insha’Allah.

We came here for our honeymoon 10 years ago and wanted to celebrate our 10 year anniversary at the resort. It was a wonderful experience doing at this time with our full family. The activities were excellent, food outstanding, and our Thakuru was amazing (Melissa). Whenever we had any questions or issues with anything, the entire staff dedicated their attention to meeting our needs. I cannot recommend this resort enough.

We spent nearly three weeks at Niyama and had an excellent experience from start to finish. Our beach villa was spacious and beautifully designed, with a stunning open-air Maldivian bathroom and extremely thorough daily cleaning by Rakesh. The food was consistently very good, with plenty of variety across the restaurants. The staff throughout the resort were outstanding – always friendly and attentive. A special mention goes to our Thakuru, Ammi, who was always available and helpful via chat, the team at Epicure and Dune bar for their excellent service, and Imran, the “coconut man,” who always greeted us with a smile and fresh coconuts. As a surfer, the highlight for me was having access to Vodi Point directly on the island – a rare and unique feature in the Maldives. Although the wind conditions weren’t always ideal, I still had some amazing sessions, including perfect 6–8 ft waves with crystal-clear water and even dolphins swimming nearby. The surf team deserves special thanks: Nathan for his advice on reading the conditions, and Rhys and Meret for capturing incredible photos. For those looking for variety, the resort also offers daily boat transfers to other nearby breaks. The beach and lagoon are beautiful and well maintained, though the reef itself has less marine life compared to other islands we’ve visited. On the other hand, the spa was an excellent experience for my wife, who enjoyed it very much. We visited as a family with our 6-year-old daughter and found the resort very well suited to families, but it is equally perfect for couples or solo travelers who want to surf. A memorable highlight was our dinner at the Nest restaurant, which was truly spectacular. Overall, Niyama offers an outstanding combination of comfort, attentive service, and unique access to world-class surfing. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Niyama Private Islands Maldives was an absolute dream – the island’s natural beauty is breathtaking, but what made the experience truly special was the warmth and hospitality of the people. Our butler Ammi was outstanding, always attentive, thoughtful, and ready to make every detail perfect, while Ahmed in the restaurant impressed us with his kindness and excellent service that made every meal a delight. A special highlight was Omran, the coconut man, whose cheerful spirit and refreshing coconuts brought such joy to our days. Beyond them, we found that most of the team at Niyama were genuinely welcoming and went above and beyond, making this stay not just a luxury escape but a heartfelt and memorable experience.

A great stay at Niyama Private Islands. My wife and I went with our daughter and two grandchildren. From the minute we were met at the airport we were made to feel so welcome. We have been to this resort before so we knew what to expect….. relaxed friendly efficiency. The food is very good in all the restaurants. Our grandson can be a bit ‘picky’ as far as food is concerned, but nothing was too much trouble for the restaurant staff. As mentioned in other reviews Imran (the man who serves fresh coconut on the beach) is the ‘Lionel Messi’ of Niyama. Always a smile and always makes a point of talking to / joking with the grandchildren. We have no hesitation in recommending this resort to anyone.
