Forty miles by seaplane from its legendary Per AQUUM sister, Niyama Maldives is a worthy newcomer. You'll find every bit of deserted island dream fodder here – tucked-away lounge areas that invite a nap by the water, overwater bungalows, infinity pools and a turquoise-heavy color palate that blends right into the horizon – but the array of indulgent activities also attracts a hip and active crowd.

A very beautiful location with vivid blue green seas and endless lovely views. Our beachside villa was very spacious, private, clean and comfortable with direct access to a gorgeous beach via a shady patio. The staff are consistently warm and welcoming throughout the resort. Different buffets each night with good variety and great quality food. Loved riding bicycles around the shady paths. Surprisingly good snorkelling in a couple of spots off the beach (didn't see a thing at blue hole, but coral gardens and the "advanced" area were pretty good!). Really nice snorkelling on boat trips including turtles, reef sharks and beautiful fish. Snorkelling guides were excellent. If you like the beach, this place is heaven. It's expensive, but otherwise I can't fault it.

WOW, WOW, WOW – What a trip! We visited Niyama to celebrate a milestone birthday, and while it was certainly a financial indulgence, it exceeded every expectation and was worth every penny. We travelled from the UK for a 10-night stay, booking directly with the resort. This came with some lovely extras – a dolphin excursion, clear kayak experience, a 30-minute spa treatment and more – a wonderful touch that set the tone for the trip. Villas: Two Dream Stays We wanted the best of both worlds, so we split our stay between a Deluxe Overwater Villa and a Deluxe Beach Pool Villa. • Overwater Villa (No. 49, Crescent area): Simply magical. Tucked away in a private, exclusive setting, it felt like having our own island. Peaceful, romantic, and unforgettable. The villa itself was gorgeous, though a little in need of a refresh – which we later learned was already underway. • Beach Pool Villa: Recently refurbished, modern, airy, and stunning. Spacious indoors, with the highlight being the outdoor bathroom – such a special touch that made us feel completely immersed in paradise. Service: Above and Beyond Our Thakuru, Shanun, made the trip extraordinary. From the moment he met us off the seaplane, he took care of absolutely everything – island tours, dinner arrangements, birthday surprises, villa decorations, fruit platters, cakes, and more. His warmth, attentiveness, and thoughtfulness went far beyond what we expected. He truly made us feel at home and completely cared for. Housekeeping was excellent – our villas were always spotless, beautifully presented, and replenished. The restaurant and bar staff were equally fantastic: warm, welcoming, and always ready to personalise our experience. Whether it was creating a custom drink or surprising us with a favourite dish, they never failed to impress. Dining & Treats We particularly loved The Deli, where you can build your own sandwiches, wraps, or bowls, followed by what can only be described as the biggest, best cookie ever! Activities & Relaxation Niyama has the perfect balance of relaxation and activity. We made use of: The gym most days, guided and inspired by Martin. Bikes, cycling around the twin islands – a fun way to explore. Water sports and tennis courts for some active fun. Movie under the stars- Outdoor personal cinema experience. We paid extra for this and it was incredible. You can choose the movie and the excellent team set it up. Snorkelling- there’s so much amazing sea-life to see and experience which was a huge highlight for us. And of course, we indulged in the Drift Spa with a couples massage. A huge thank you to AO, who gave the best massages we’ve ever had. We left floating on air. Final Thoughts From the villas and food to the staff and spa, Niyama is a place that truly shines because of the people who make it special. We felt spoiled, celebrated, and completely at peace. We can’t wait to return. Thank you, Niyama, for the most unforgettable holiday! 😍😍😍

We loved every second spent in Niyama - it is a truly unique resort. Do not hesitate to book it because you will hardly find a more perfect place in Maldives (and I’ve stayed in few so I can compare)! Niyama consists of two islands connected together by a bridge. Both islands have perfect beaches and great lagoon for swimming. It is very picturesque with the lush greenery. The views can never get boring! The villas are built with great space from each other and the privacy was one of the great highlights. The islands never feel crowded, actually most of the times we were the only people on the beach so we felt like on our private island 🥰 Please bear in mind that Niyama has no house reef so you should adjust your expectations. There are few spots around both islands where you can do some snorkelling though. We tried the coral nursery - it is visibly man made structure and it will need few years to grow the corals into more natural reef look. But for me it was perfect. I saw lot of beautiful fish and it is easy site even for a beginner. Both islands are very green and we loved walking or cycling from one end to another. It felt like going through a jungle! Resort provides bicycles free of charge for everyone and it is very nice experience. The service was one of the top experiences as well. Every staff member is so attentive and nice. Whatever you ask them, you never feel like you are bothering them. They serve with their hearts. And finally food - another huge highlight! Always fresh and truly delicious. Every meal was perfectly flavoured and I very much appreciated dietary flexibility. The cheff always adjusted the meal to fit my diet and each staff also made sure that the meals I ordered are safe for my allergies. Most of the food is home made - even bread, pastry, butter, sausages, joghurt, ice cream… All restaurants which we tried were great, but I must mention great ambiance of Tribal and Nest for dinner! THANK YOU NIYAMA for having us and hope to be back soon for a longer stay! 🙏🥰
