A getaway that stayed with us long after it ended. This was our second stay at a Fairmont property, and once again, it exceeded every expectation. There’s an unmistakable refinement to the experience—a standard so distinctive, it quietly reshapes your idea of five-star hospitality. For the very first time, after countless hotel stays, my husband even asked if we could return to Vaya. Vaya… truly enchanting. From the cuisine to the ambiance, the interiors to those irresistibly large croissants—every detail felt special. And the uniforms! I might have mistaken them for Dolce & Gabbana-inspired, but perhaps lemons really are just meant for lemonade 🍋. We also enjoyed a fine dining experience at the Dome Lounge—effortlessly French, undeniably elegant. What truly touched us was how the team handled our last-minute birthday request for our two grown children, along with our 24th anniversary. The hospitality team went above and beyond, surprising us with cakes, fruits, and nuts. Safe to say, breakfast buffets may never quite feel the same again.

We arrived very late on the night of 24th February, the gentleman on reception was extremely polite & helpful informing us we had been upgraded to a room with a balcony. The room on the 26th floor was large, light & tastefully decorated. After a few days relaxing in the sunshine our stay became disrupted by the Middle East Conflict. Duncan the hotel manager then became extremely visible, he was at the restaurant entrance at breakfast each morning & was happy to discuss the concerns of guests while at the same time reassuring us that we were safe. For the following week he arranged afternoon tea in the club lounge where guests chatted, played games & mingled with each other. Kevin the Food & Beverage assistant Director arranged activities in the hotel kitchens where classes such as Croissant, Sushi & Mocktail making were offered and thoroughly enjoyed. The Qatari Government then arranged for our board to be upgraded to full board, the costs of which for our extended stay they covered. The reception staff were very helpful in assisting with form filling and extending our rooms on a daily basis. After five days inside the hotel we were permitted to go outside, most of the guests choosing to remain by the outside pool. There are a couple of ladies I would like to mention who made a special impression on us and looked after us in the restaurants - sorry I don't have their names. One lady we first met in the Cyra Lebanese restaurant who waited on us she is olive skinned & dark hair. She then moved down to the breakfast restaurant as a host and although not in her usual role was just as caring & professional. A young girl who we first met as host in the Raffles Aqua restaurant, she also moved to the Fairmont breakfast restaurant as host. She always smiled when she greeted us and was keen to talk in English & hear about our family & cat at home. We cannot praise the whole Fairmont staff enough for the way they reassured us and kept us informed, we look forward to returning again in the future.

Nice hotel with nice view. The restaurant bar on top is very nice. But pricing is very expensive and portions are too small.
