Reviews for Raffles Doha

Thanks

We stayed at Raffles and Fairmont Doha for a special occasion, and I would like to sincerely thank Saoussan from the reservations team. As it was our first time in Qatar, she helped us plan everything with great care and attention, which we truly appreciated. What made it even more special was how she treated us like family and went the extra mile to arrange a surprise for my son — it turned out even better than we imagined. Her kindness and effort made our experience unforgettable and left us wanting to come back again. I really hope to meet her one day to thank her in person

Honestly I'm not used to putting comments on the applications but for this time the level and the service was of exceptional quality there are no words high enough to describe the service the place the kindness of the staff from the beginning to the end without forgetting the food and of a level wow wowuuuuu in view of the prices and the service it offers you can go without thinking or anything else! And a big thank you to chef RUYONZA for coming to meet us to exchange and thank him in person for his professionalism and his level of chef!

Mixed feelings - probably won't be back

We had high expectations of the Raffles Doha. However unfortunately, we left the hotel quite underwhelmed. To begin with the positives, we arrived at approximately 1pm and were met very warmly by the staff. Arabic coffee on arrival, and a fuss-free check-in. To make things even better, we were kindly upgraded from an Urban suite to a Gulf suite, along with an early check-in. Fantastic! We were guided to our room and given a brief tour. This was appreciated, however in retrospect, it would have also been useful to have had some information on the key services that the hotel offers such as the Raffles butler service. For example, what this service offers, as it is a key part of the Raffles brand. The suite as expected was clean and spacious, with a large balcony giving super views of the gulf/sea. We had requested an extra bed at check-in, which we paid for (more on this later). By the evening, the bed still hadn't arrived and we ended up having to chase this up. The breakfast was fantastic - mainly à la carte, with some small options as a buffet. Maybe the buffet could do with more slightly more variety? Service was generally very good, however slightly hit and miss at times (for example, requesting a particular small item and having something else brought instead). One thing I was really looking forward to whilst staying at the hotel, was experiencing the bespoke Compoz scent library in the room. Unfortunately, the device wasn't available in our room, and when asking room-service, this was due to a technical fault in the devices across the hotel, which meant that they had been taken out of the rooms. Really disappointing, as this is marketed as one of the unique features in the rooms. The Wi-Fi was sometimes intermittent, with occasional brief cut-outs and slow speeds. The mini-bar was iconic, however there were no snacks as mentioned in previous reviews. Just soft-drinks and teabags. The iPad next to the main bed had a faulty connection, which meant that the sound of it connecting/disconnecting itself was running through the night, and ended up having to be turned off. There was also no TV in the bedroom, instead a seal of where the TV should have been. In the bathroom, the sink taps initally took a while for hot water to come through. The shower facilities were fantastic - very cool pre-set modes etc. However, the shower decided to cut out half way through my shower for no reason (it was not on a pre-set timed setting) which was unexpected. However thankfully, it managed to turn back on once pressed again. Nice amenities from Frédéric Malle. The acoustic penthouse was closed and unavailable to visit during our entire stay (disappointing, as we were looking forward to visiting it) as were buggy rides down to the main road on the first night. As a female, written correspondence to myself on receipts etc during our stay, were titled as 'Mr', which is not my title, and not the title I used to make the booking. Upon check-out, it was also noted that we had not been charged correctly for the extra bed. Very happy to pay what is owed, however disappointed that this was not charged correctly to begin with. Overall, we left with mixed feelings of his hotel. Despite the upgrade (which again, was appreciated), there were many other things during our stay that brought down the whole experience. Yes, it is an iconic building, however it is unfortunately not enough to bring us back again.

Raffles Does It Again!

Beautiful all—suite hotel. Unfortunately we were there during wartime so occupancy was quite low, many food venues in the hotel were closed. But overall it was a great stay. Room was so comfortable, and we loved the view. The male changing room for the pool was super luxurious. Pool service was posh as well. Overall, a great stay!
