Average Sunday Carvery

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We visited for the Sunday carvery based on recommendations, but unfortunately found the experience to be quite average. The main course portions were disappointing — just a tablespoon of cauliflower cheese and a single scoop of mash, and we had to ask for more, which wasn’t ideal. Dessert was also a letdown, as nothing was labelled. There was no indication of what each item was or whether any options were gluten free. We did notice labels sitting on the bench underneath, which made it seem a bit disorganised. Overall, it didn’t quite live up to expectations.

Just gets better and better

Only home from a two night stay and as always it’s never long enough.Arrived on Sunday quite early and room was ready at 1.45 which was fantastic and a huge beautiful room.We had lunch & dinner in the restaurant beside the bar on Sunday and drinks in the fabulous bar which have been totally refurbished. Breakfast is exceptional at Harvey’s Point as we have stayed in Dromoland Castle ,Castle Leslie & Ashford Castle recently but Harvey’s is definitely the one to beat.Dinner last night was beautiful and Lakeside staff exceptional from Supervisor Geraldine to Ivette so lovely that they add to the ambience. The lady with red hair (apologies didn’t get her )herself and the two elder barmen are like a well oiled machine, friendly, efficient. We cannot wait to return. There is no doubt why this hotel is busy as it exudes luxury with fantastic food and excellent staff.

Deservedly Irelands best hotel

We have just returned from a wonderful four night stay in Harvey's Point.. we have been going there, usually twice a year for nearly 20 years , And this is amazing how much has changed and how litte has changed all of the same time .. there have been many changes in the hotel since we first started visiting extensions added , redecorations, All signs of constant investment which is a great sign in a business. The staff have changed older members have left , new members have arrived . At various times the menu has changed , new things have been tried , old things may have been dropped . Even the ownership has changed in that time as well . However, but has never changed is the thing that makes Harvey's point so special . The absolute dedication that the staff seem to have to make sure that you enjoy our break no matter what . No problem seems insurmountable, we have all made mistakes perhaps forgot to make a booking for dinner etc but due to the dedicated staff, all such issues seem to be able to be overcome. From Ann Marie the office manager to Ailish in guest relations to Ohran and Michael in the bar and restaurant, and the many many other staff membersthe staff are a credit to and the heart of the hotel As to the food and the rooms , they are of the highest possible quality. If you look at the prices and think it's expensive, I feel sure, you would pay significantly more almost anywhere else to match the quality of what's on offer here

Does not cater for food intolerences.

Went here last Sunday for lunch. All food and service was good only when the waiter asked if I wanted tea or coffee and I asked for oat coffee. He said they did not have oat milk but had semi-skimmed. Clearly this staff member does not know about dairy and non-dairy food.

Just back from another wonderful stay at Harveys Point Hotel. It's a very special place, thanks to the food, the lake, the spacious luxurious bedrooms. All the staff are incredible, welcoming, friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. We'll be back!
