We had an amazing family stay at Harvey’s Point over the Christmas break. As a family of five, we spent three nights and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The food was exceptional, and the service was outstanding. We’re already looking forward to returning in the coming weeks

My Mum and I stayed in Harvey's for the Christmas Package. Having stayed in plenty of top class hotels in Ireland and abroad, we can only congratulate all the staff in Harvey's for delivering a truly rare and perfect experience for us. From the moment of arrival, the welcome feels truly genuine and was reinforced by all the staff we met. The rooms are enormously spacious, wonderfully quiet, superbly comfortably and spotlessly maintained. The location and design of the hotel maximises the gorgeous views over the lake. The breakfast is a wonderful mix of individual pick and mix and complemented by a lovely cooked-to-order selection. The waiting staff were friendly, calm and wonderfully efficient at meeting our every need. The dinner was superb and as a vegan, I was absolutely stunned to see a full vegan menu on offer together with vegan wines. This alone was worth the trip for me as it really is such a disappointment to see so many other hotels and restaurants totally ignoring plant based cooking. The entertainments on offer over the few days were very engaging and the St Stephen's Day concert was absolutely top class. The lovely framed photo Christmas present and professional photograph were also lovely touches. We really had an absolutely wonderful Christmas, my 88 yr old mother's first one away from home and we certainly hope to be back for 2026.

We booked in for the whole Christmas experience, and we were not disappointed. From the moment we checked in, until we checked out. Firstly we booked the premium suite, and it was amazing, huge, and spotless. The house keeping staff were excellent, and we were delivered fresh milk and cookies every day. The food in the restaurant was exceptional, we both had the scallops to start on the first night, and they were so good we had them again on St Stephen’s Day. The walks and scenery are like nothing I have experienced before, it was breathtaking. We went on the guided walk on Christmas Eve with Noel and it was brilliant, he is so knowledgeable of everything around the Donegal area, and the craic was brilliant. The staff in the hotel were all so attentive and friendly. Eamon Gillespie was incredible, everything ran so smoothly and he took time to speak to everyone personally. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for making our first Christmas away from home so special, from Linda at breakfast, Marie on Christmas night, Noel Cunningham, Eamon Gillespie and even Ella the guide dog for giving us hugs and kisses. Thank you all so much, and see you all again next Christmas x

What a glorious stay at Harvey’s Point. Second time here, but first for Christmas. Everything was great, from the moment we arrived. I have never been in a hotel before when you first leave your room after check in and the General Manager is waiting in lobby to welcome you and ask if everything is great with your room and if there is anything that can be done to make anything better. He is obviously confident and proud in what he is offering. And so he should be. Culture comes from the top and his approach using that question was the theme for the rest of our stay. There is obviously a great supportive staffing culture in the hotel as everyone comes across very happy and eager to make your stay great. It is all the little things as you go along. Of course it is easy to make negative feedback if you are unable to use a coffee machine without prior knowledge or if a dinner did not live up to a perceived expectation, but at no time did we feel we that new discoveries at Harvey’s point was a bad thing. We loved having a great coffee machine, that I learnt to use and have exceptional coffee from. Best coffee form any hotel room I’ve stayed in. Thanks to all the staff and management who gave up their Christmas to make sure my wife and I had an excellent one. I think if the offering is the same next year, we will become regulars also.
