We went there last year. Not in December but another month. We booked the most or one of the most expensive rooms (villa) to have full privacy. As a hijabi I went to the garden to have a swim and I was shocked because there were men looking at me from the roof of the villa next to us(see picture of one of the men who were working at the villa next to us). The manager came and his solution was to give us a diner for free and one night for free. The diner was good, but at the check-out the manager told us we’re only getting the diner for free, so no money back for the last night. The issue is not the money but how can you, especially in Dubai, not respect my privacy. I’m still not over the fact that as a hijabi there are men who saw me with almost no clothes on. Really disappointed in the manager also. Although it looked beautiful that’s a big reason for me to never go back to Anantara world islands

The hotel is great. Feels very detached from Dubai which is nice for a short break. The reception area at the Jumeirah port for the boat ride has room for improvement as they can't really handle the amount of guests turning up when it's busy. They check you in at the port and then when you arrive at the island (all together) you have to check in again which feels very pointless especially if it's a big group getting off the boat you will be hanging around waiting to check in. Apart from the initial arrival experience the rest has been great. We love the room and the private pool with direct access to a very quiet beach. Staff have been great, Rendi was very helpful with cleaning out room and sorting extra towels etc - very nice chap.
