Bab Al Shams Desert Resort & Spa

We visited Bab Al Shams 28th Feb- 4th March. The hotel is absolutely stunning- the pools and restaurants are gorgeous. The staff. Wow. Honestly we can’t thank you enough- to visit during the time we did was difficult but the staff did everything to make us feel safe and secure and no request was too much for them. I hope everyone is keeping safe- thank you so much, we can’t wait to return in the future.

In February 2026, our family, including our 9-year-old daughter, spent a total of seven nights at the Bab al Shams. The hotel is an oasis of peace and hospitality. We found the Bab al Shams to be the perfect contrast to the bustling city center of Dubai with its many attractions, and a wonderful complement to it. Our arrival at reception was very warm and welcoming. The entire hotel complex is immaculately maintained, beautifully illuminated in the evenings, and feels pleasantly quiet at all times thanks to its numerous winding corridors. The rooms are very tastefully decorated. The room service (a big thank you to Rikas Abdul Rahuman and his colleagues) ensures spotless cleanliness and freshness every day and brings fresh towels several times a day (if needed). There were always plenty of sun loungers available by the pool, and several lifeguards ensure the safety of the guests. With a separate kids' pool, an adults-only pool, and a main pool, we were able to find exactly the peace and quiet or the more active atmosphere we were looking for. The attentive staff at the pool regularly brought us small snacks (fruit skewers, nuts, and fruit ice cream), and there was always plenty of cold water available. The service at the Zala restaurant was incredibly attentive and warm (especially Dharika and Amal, but also all the other staff). The chefs conjured up a variety of delicious dishes every day for the buffet and the fresh cooking stations. There are also several specialty restaurants available upon request, but we didn't use them because we had everything we needed at Zala. At the Experience Center, we opted for bicycle rentals (there's a fantastic cycling route right next to the hotel) and took a sunset desert tour, during which Umar shared many interesting facts about the desert and its wildlife. Umar is also an incredible photographer, so we were able to take home some wonderful dune photos as souvenirs. In the afternoon, our daughter loved taking a short camel ride and watching the peregrine falcons perform a brief flight demonstration. At the Experience Center, we opted for bicycle rentals (there's a really great cycling route next to the hotel) and went on a desert tour at sunset. Many thanks to the hotel management, you are obviously doing everything right! Your staff are very courteous and attentive, so we felt very comfortable and hope to return very soon.

Amit was such an amazing waiter, so friendly and kind , attentive , a true gentleman. The venue is gorgeous, the vibe is very calm and the surroundings are exquisite, I give Amit a 10/10 for service , very welcoming and gentle. The food is on another level.

This restaurant is exceptionally good. The food, ambience, music band & the staff. Extremely highly recommended. The gentleman serving us named Hardic was amazing.all the staff were so expert🫶 10 out of 10 ❤️

We had a delicious dinner at the Indian restaurant Rait, excellent flavours, size and price! Bilash was our server and was very kind and attentive! Rishav was excellent so kind Emily and good banter, it had live music too - nice bonus The waiters and manger were excellent and had some great recommendations We loved the menu selection and perfect size!
