Very disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I have stayed in many Kempinski Hotels around the world for work. As a treat before flying home, I booked this hotel. I will never come back as its been one disappointment after another. Initial check in was slow even though we were the only ones checking in. We were then told there was no breakfast buffet and had to use room service. If I had known this on booking then I would have cancelled and gone elsewhere. We were really looking forward to the breakfast - ordering in room would mean the food would be cold as we like to select a little often from the buffet and not order a huge amount in one go. I was also looking forward to having a steam and sauna. The gym area is huge and well equipped. However, the sauna fits only 2 people. Steam room is also very small compared to size of gym. I suspect its operated by a private company as I had to wait for housekeeping to be called to open a locker as I was a hotel guest The expectation was for me to call housekeeping again to open it again later - the only way to do this would be to walk back through the gym area in my swimming shorts to gym reception and ask. I didn't bother using the steam/sauna. I paid for a larger room which was nice but trying to run a bath was a long exercise due to low water pressure in room. We decided to sit by the lovely pool which was ruined by noise from the nearby freeway in addition to the music that was being played. Overall, this is my worst experience of a Kempinski hotel and I will not be coming back. The hotel sent me several emails after my booking and could have been open about the breakfast limitation and gym not being welcome to hotel guests. This would have allowed me to cancel and go elsewhere.

The Gray wellness

had a wonderful experience at this wellness club. The Pilates reformer class was excellent- the machines are high quality, modern, and beautifully maintained. The trainer was very attentive to details and made sure everyone was performing the exercises correctly. The atmosphere in the studio is calm, welcoming, and very inspiring. I left the class feeling stronger, relaxed, and energized. Highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys Pilates and a great wellness environment.

Amazing pit stop during shopping

Popped by for Afternoon Tea at Aspen after buying a few things at the mall. Must say it was a delightful experience - very pleasant and proper. Greeted with a nice welcome drink and a tray with vast amount of savoury and sweet treats - the coffee was superb and perfect to digest all the nibbles. Definitely a must try!
