an unforgettable birthday celebration at taj exotica resort & spa, the palm, dubai ❣️ i had such a wonderful and memorable birthday celebration at taj exotica resort & spa, the palm, dubai, what made this experience truly special was not only the beautiful resort and relaxing atmosphere, but also the genuine hospitality and kindness of the team. a special thank you to faiz and ali from front office for the warm welcome, cody and dylan from recreation, and kevin, manu, and avinash from lime pool bar for their lovely service. my appreciation also goes to ibna, the manager at palm kitchen, and soufiane, who served me and made sure taken care of me, a heartfelt thank you to dari, the lovely lady who joined in singing and made the moment even more joyful, as well as jan, the indonesian pastry chef, and chef subankar for helping make my birthday experience extra special. every little gesture made a difference, and i genuinely appreciated the friendliness, attentiveness, and effort shown by the team. as someone who appreciates hospitality, i believe that what makes a luxury resort memorable is not just its facilities, but the people who make guests feel welcomed, valued, and celebrated. thank you to the entire team at taj exotica for turning my birthday into such a beautiful memory. your kindness made my day brighter, and i hope this appreciation reaches each of you. you truly deserve to be recognized for your dedication and wonderful hospitality. 🤍 i look forward to visiting again! thank you for making my birthday so special❤️❤️❤️

A Disappointing Stay at Taj Exotica – Far Below Expectations I had very high expectations of Taj Exotica, especially given the standards and reputation of the Taj hotel in Mumbai. Unfortunately, our experience was nowhere near what we expected from a hotel of this calibre. My partner, our two-year-old daughter, my mother and I stayed at the hotel for 10 nights, and we were deeply disappointed by the standards of hygiene, food quality and service. Room cleanliness and hygiene As soon as we checked in, we noticed small strands of hair on the bedding and hair on the room telephone. I have attached a photograph as evidence. The decorative cushions were also unhygienic, with visible dirt marks on the pillowcases. This was an extremely disappointing first impression and raised serious concerns about the room's cleanliness. Breakfast and food hygiene The breakfast experience was equally disappointing. On two separate occasions, we found small black hairs in our yoghurt, which was left uncovered and exposed. We also observed staff handling food with their bare hands, without using gloves or tongs. Most concerningly, our two-year-old daughter became very unwell during our stay. We were concerned that food cross-contamination may have been a contributing factor. As a family travelling with a young child, we expected much higher standards of food safety and hygiene. The breakfast staff were also not particularly welcoming or attentive, which further detracted from the overall experience. Eventually, I received a refund of 3,000 dirhams. For the remaining six days, my family and I chose to have breakfast at another hotel on the Palm. This turned out to be an excellent decision, as we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast there and felt much more comfortable with our choice. Beach, pool and outdoor areas We were also disappointed by the condition of the outdoor facilities. Staff were openly smoking around the beach and poolside areas, which was particularly unpleasant for families with young children. The beach appeared poorly maintained, with cigarette butts and litter scattered around. The pool also did not appear to be adequately cleaned during our stay, so we decided not to use it. Overall experience For a hotel carrying the Taj name, we expected exceptional standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, attentive service and well-maintained facilities. Sadly, our experience fell significantly short in all these areas. A 10-night family holiday should be relaxing and enjoyable, but these issues had a considerable impact on our stay. The hygiene concerns were particularly troubling given that we were travelling with a two-year-old child. Unfortunately, Taj Exotica did not live up to its reputation or our expectations. Based on our experience, I would encourage the management to take a serious look at its housekeeping, food-handling practices, staff service and maintenance of the beach and pool areas.
