I stayed at this hotel around the same time last year and had a terrific experience, so I reserved three nights during a busy August weekend in Dublin. Once again the hotel exceeded expectations: the friendliness of the desk staff, (including one who remembered me from prior visit), the wonderful room, and accommodating team. I was recognized personally for my patronage; in fact a tea service member remembered me immediately and recalled which tea I sampled. That’s services! Kudos to Arthur, doorman Stephen, and the entire group - you were wonderful!

We had high tea at the Atrium Lounge and it was perfect ! The place is great, the staff extremely friendly (thank you Evelyna and Larissa), the food was delicious with a great vegetarian option.

College Green was a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived! We were very warmly welcomed at the door with a true Irish greeting. Our luggage was whisked away with such care and delivered promptly to our room. Vanessa was absolutely lovely at check in, she was joyful and made us feel so welcome. Our room was lovely and impeccably clean, with a lovely view of the city. The location of the hotel was perfect! We not only would recommend, but we will definitely return again!

Between broken air conditioning in (two) different rooms and a late check-in, we just had an extremely bad experience at The College Green. My friend and I booked through AMEX Fine Hotels, whichunlocks early check-in when available. We understood this of course wasn't guaranteed. However, they started off unable to let us into our room even AFTER check-in time. The woman at the front desk actually made the excuse of "it's a big room so it takes a long time to clean." The room was not terribly large, and still -- this wasn't their first day of operations. They should know how much time is needed to turn a room over in between guests. Not acceptable for a 5-star hotel or this price-point. When we finally got to the room - it was stifling hot. Even the bellhop made a comment about how uncomfortable it was. We told the front desk. The initial response was that "Ireland was having a heatwave". Again - more excuses. We'd been in Ireland for two weeks and stayed at numerous hotels. None of the other ones had any issue regulating temperature. They finally admitted the AC was broken, and we were promised an engineer would fix the situation. Upon returning later that afternoon -- we were told it was completed. To our surprise, the room was exactly the same when we got up there, so we had to check out. That night, we received a phone call from a manager apologizing profusely, and saying they wanted to do something special for us. They'd upgrade us to the "College Suite" if we were willing to give them another chance the following night. My friend and I agreed to return. Sure enough, ill-functioning AC once again...but it was our last night and we had an early flight out, so there was no time to pickup and leave a second time. They had to bring multiple fans up to us (see attached photo) but it didn't make the room much more comfortable. We had a sleepless night and left the next day. Check out the Merrion Hotel or the Shelbourne if you're looking for an alternative 5-star experience.
