My Wife & I returned to the Shelbourne for our 5th time celebrating her birthday & as usual this Hotel did not disappoint with the staff going above & beyond to make our stay a memorable one. It was a magical time with the Christmas decorations still up. The Food is excellent & cleanliness exceptional & it’s the small touches to your room that make it in my opinion the best in Ireland. We will be back for sure 👍👏

Yesterday we attended the afternoon high tea at The Shelbourne on my special birthday occasion; however, the experience fell significantly below expectations. From the outset, the staff were not welcoming, and there was no sense of being taken care of—an essential element of hospitality, particularly in a hotel of this stature. This is the first hotel I have encountered where guests are made to suffer due to the chef having finished. For an establishment of this size and reputation, it was surprising that no alternative arrangements were made to accommodate guests or ensure continuity of service nor were we informed at the time of booking about the chefs 'finish and start times'. Whenever a request was made, the response was consistently “we’ll check,” rather than a courteous and reassuring “certainly” or “no problem.” This lack of attentiveness and warmth created an unwelcoming atmosphere and reflected a clear absence of genuine hospitality. I also have specific dietary requirements due to being pregnant that necessitate a higher calorie intake. When I requested a refill for the second time it was reluctantly refused with the explanation that the chef had finished. This was particularly disappointing as the chef had already been gone before the finish of the offical afternoon tea time slot time. In my experience of attending numerous high teas, refills are typically offered until guests indicate they are satisfied. I left feeling hungry and dissatisfied. Given the premium price charged, the experience did not represent value for money and was especially disappointing for what was meant to be a special celebration

Lovely stay with family and friends for NYE. Christmas tree in the room is a lovely touch. Every member of staff that dealt with us was amazing. But…. Huge shout-out to Jaysree in Reservations! She answered all my questions promptly, efficiently, and was incredibly helpful throughout. Outstanding service! Would highly recommend and will be visiting again soon.
