Good experience. A few issues around getting a table at Breakfast but we can get over that. Room were v good. very nice experience. Second time staying. Cian at Check-In was WONDERFUL. He has exceptional skills. Thank you for the early check in time. Will stay again

When my son and his fiancee got engaged on 4th February 2024, they knew that The Shelbourne was the hotel they wanted for their wedding reception. They got married on 2nd April 2026 in City Hall and welcomed their guests for the celebrations in The Shelbourne Ballroom. As a family, we stayed in the Hotel for 3 nights to make the most of the occasion. From check-in to check-out, the staff went above and beyond for the happy couple and ourselves. The welcome at Reception was so warm and that set the tone for the whole stay. Cathy (their wedding planner), the hotel's florists, concierge desk, bar and restaurant staff and doormen couldn't have been more helpful with organising taxis, room service, making sure boutonnieres for the gentlemen and corsages for the ladies in the bridal party were ready for transportation to the civil ceremony. My new daughter-in-law was so delighted with the effort the Hotel put into making her feel so special on her departure with her bridesmaids and the welcome they received on their return to the Hotel as a newly-married couple was something they'll never forget. The drinks flowed and the food at the drinks reception was perfect, the wedding meal was delicious and the staff were so professional and courteous from start to finish. It was the first time a lot of the guests had been in The Shelbourne and several people remarked on the splendour of The Ballroom and how beautifully decorated it was. We have stayed at The Shelbourne Hotel in the past, enjoyed afternoon tea in The Lord Mayor's Lounge on a couple of occasions and the No. 27 bar is one of our favourite places as a family to celebrate momentous occasions or just pop in for a drink, so we knew we would be well looked after - but this stay was memorable!

I booked two rooms at The Shelbourne Hotel last year to celebrate my husband’s 30th, and unfortunately the experience was really disappointing. I had contacted the hotel months in advance to arrange something special in the room, cake, balloons, anything to mark the occasion, and made it clear I was happy to pay extra. I followed up again the week of our stay and was reassured it would all be taken care of. I even checked again at check-in to be absolutely sure. So you can imagine my disappointment when we walked into the room and there was nothing there. While my husband was in the shower, I rang reception. They asked what time we were heading to dinner and said they’d organise something while we were out, which I was really happy with. But within five minutes, there was a knock on the door, my husband answered it, and a staff member handed him a small plate with two desserts and a card. It completely ruined the surprise and, honestly, I was fuming. After all the planning and follow-ups, it felt like a real letdown. In no way did this feel like a 5-star experience, and sadly, based on this, I wouldn’t return.

The accommodations and staff were amazing. Everyone we met and interacted with were very professional and friendly.

A fabolous hotel in the centre of Dublin. Shelbourne has an authentic old world feel, from it's piano bar at the entrance to it's horse shoe bar in the basement. A wonderful breakfast and amazing staff. I was exhausted having arrived from a long haul flight from Kennedy to Shannon and a pit stop tour in Ennis, Moher and Lahinch. I hope to return some day Dublin 💋
