21c Museum Hotel Durham

Our experience at 21C Museum Hotel was amazing! Devon, the valet, greeted us & told us he would take care of our luggage & our car. He gave us directions for entertainment. At the front desk Zakiyah welcomed us & made us feel like we were at home. She gave us all the info we needed for our stay. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious & we enjoyed the artwork. After breakfast we toured the museum, which was wonderful! When waiting for our car, valet Stan “the Man” gave us a tour of the bank vault, it was amazing! Great staff!!!

I was eager to stay at this interesting hotel but if you want a relaxing and restorative night's sleep, I would not recommend. The noise minimization between rooms is very poor. In our first room, we could hear a child crying and screaming "Daddy, Daddy" for an hour. At 10pm we finally changed rooms. After we moved into our new room (#518), I noticed that it was a designated "pet room". We both woke up in the morning with stuffy noses and itchy watery eyes after spending the night with pet dander. If you are pet allergic, I would suggest ensuring you are not in one of these rooms, and better yet, not staying at this hotel. Overall, the hotel had a very tired, worn-out feel, as if it was elegant once but no longer.

This was our first stay at a 21c. I visited one in Louisville for the museum. Everything was SO nice. The staff was very friendly and our room was amazing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the 21C hotel. We could walk to the DPAC and there were several eateries nearby. Hotel was quiet and staff very pleasant and professional. Room was clean and everything was functional. Used valet with no issues.

There’s something to see around every corner! This place is so cool and staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also fabulous.
